How about bringing charges against the top execs of all companies involved in the disaster, particularly BP since they were already on Probation from EPA violations? This makes BP habitual criminals. Anyone who invests in BP is investing in Blood Money, money made from the deaths of BP employees. Since the Sexist Supreme Court Justice Scalia has determined that corporations have constitiutional and women don't... then Corporations should be held accountable to the same laws as the "ordinary" citizenry. And BP has killed and injured enough people.

I don't know who is responsible. But since BP must have sub-contracted all those operations to Halliburton and other companies then BP should be the one that is responsible to the people of the U.S. They can sue those other companies if they want to, we shouldn't have to.
The blame in all crimes should be those who cause the crime. Was this a "crime" or was this an accident. A blantant accident. It should be treated like involuntary manslaughter. But who's to blame when multiple people are at fault? Look at Enron. How many people went to jail? It should be the same here. A jury should decide who's to blame and who should be punished.
I think the top 5 companies who had the most investment in Deepwater Horizon should pay and continue to pay. But the people who are really paying is us. We pay for it at the gas pump with higher prices. And when gas prices go up, so does everything else. We pay in the end. So just throw them in jail, might solve more than a big fine.

I want to correct a statement you made in your pre-recorded news bit (on LiveStream during the live show). Your conclusion is correct, but the terms used were incorrect.
You said one billion humans are facing starvation. Actually, technically, they are experiencing chronic malnutrition.
Starvation is where someone starves to death...the stereotypical bloated bellies we used to see on TV during the 1980s.
Chronically malnourished people do not get enough food and/or nutrition day in and day out. They are then unable to fight diseases like colds, diarrhea, etc. Then, they die from these diseases that a well nourished human being can fight easily.
Also, empowering women is the key, but reducing birth rates is best done by feeding a population. When the population's infant mortality rate falls, then the birth rate falls. Now, the best way to fight chronic hunger is to empower women.

I have been hearing that we have to vote for the lessor of the two evils for over 30 years now. It seems to me that until the corporate democrats can never win an election without listening to their working class base, they are not about to change.It's just a matter of time until the corporate democrats have made themselves totally irrelevant to the working class, and will fade from our memory.

"You say people need to be responsible for themselves when it came to buying a house, but when it comes to requiring that person to have health coverage you believe the government can not require them to be responsible for there own wellbeing. Going by your conflict on the areas of responsibility, it appears when it comes to healthcare it OK for a person to shun there responsibility and pass there burden onto those who chose to acquire healthcare coverage which cause responsible members of society to bare the burden of the irresponsible members". The only way I can relate to that type of mental gymnastics is to equate irresponsible members of our society with the Bank CEO's who believe we the tax payers are there servants who have to clean up there messes much like those created by a baby. I know the republicans say they have a big tent, it's a shame it's a used Barnum and Bailey one.

I think the "surge" is an oligarch media event that makes Obama wrong regardless what he says or does. Obama is scaring everyone. He is the type of guy that can go to a meeting expecting a couple of dozen people and 3 million people show up. This scares everyone. His ploitical opponent says their only goal is to stop Obama. Nothing else matters. The citizens can go to hell. The oligarch media just picks a fight between everyone and the citizens are helpless. His political opponents are threatening to repeal medical reform. They insisted that certain provisions must be in the reform and are now going to repeal it because they are in the reform. The surge? The military are demanding it and will soon begin bashing Obama for it.
I do not agree that we should stop the rebuilding of those countries. If we destroyed them in order to protect ourselves then we should do all of the rebuilding work. It will be interesting to see what actually transpires.

cable TV, life away our future is being divided up as war spoils. President Obama was the brightest light during the election and now is a dismal failure. So what happened ? How did the majority of Americans hope and dreams for the future get ignored. Many of those who supported Obama slipped over into the Tea Potty desperately seeking an answer to something. America is not the shinning light of democracy. In fact quite the opposite. The change that has to come will have to come from the bottom up and It may get ugly. It is clear to me that regardless of democrat or republican holding office it is only a minor degree of difficulty for the elite royalty to get what they want. The elite extortion technique worked like a charm. Tax breaks for the wealthy or no job creation or end to the conflicts.
