So, the GOP's number one objective is to "dump Obama." That's very telling. It's not to find a way to create more jobs. It's not how they can lower the deficit and balance the budget. It's not how they can help the American people in this time of economic disparity. It's not how they can create an atmosphere of cordiality, less partisanship, more cooperation. It really is so sad that the majority of voters in this midterm election felt that THIS was the party for them, THIS was the party that most closely represented tTHEM--truly very sad (for all the rest of us).

The people have already changed. The voting machines have not changed. They allow the vote counters to decide our elections. Until we have the true vote counts and a paper trail, nothing will change to help the people.
Yes, it's almost like Obama wanted his administration to fail from the get go. Why on earth otherwise would he go after " National Heathcare" legislation ? And to do so, right out of the box, was, is political suicide...It’s no secret that was Hilary's National Heathcare was the sole reason the GOP when to such extremes to attack President Clinton, resulting in his impeachment..I can't help but believe that whomever advised Obama to jump on this issue, real agenda was to DESTORY and Discredit the OBAMA administration as so the GOP could gain back control of the Whitehouse…....and if Obama was to dumb to see that, which it appears he was, then he's too dumb for me to vote for again. Besides, he doing just the opposite of what he said he'd do when he was running for office But that’s another story in itself...In reality, I'm thinking this guy is A BAD APPLE....Maybe the whole Democratic party is for that matter...they're either bad or real dumb...Take your pick.
It will take a LONG time for Americans to wake up. Unfortunately they practice intellectual inbreeding as Rachel Maddow outlined in her show on 11/4. They won't learn anything because they only listen to FOX and the broadcast media which supports the Republican agenda. Also, people still choose to believe the old "tax and spend" Liberal characteristic regardless of all proof to the contrary. I have lost faith in the Democrats ability to fight, stand on principle and promote their accomplishments and I have lost faith in the intellectual abilities of the majority of American people. They'd rather watch garbage 'reality' TV!
I expect that about 42 percent of the population is Republican. They vote Republican regardless of who the candidate is. They do not care if their representative votes against their interests. I know many Republicans (I live in Orange County California) who will always vote for Republicans becasue Democrats support a woman's right to choose. They hate Democrats because they see them all as Pro Choice. These single issue candidates, or Low Information Voters, side with Republicans because Republicans are more in favor of War, Guns, the Death Penalty, and Christian values above the Constitution. Republicans are anti-abortion, anti-immigrants, anti-taxes, anti-gay rights--they are so strong about those issues that they will vote against Democrats every time, even though the Democrats support the individual rights of these Republicans. Republicans also seem now to be against the First Amendment.
Rebublicans shout that they LOVE the US CONSTITUTION . . . they just don't like the fine print, such as the entire First Amendment or the entire Second Amendment. They like the Constitution they just don't like what it says. I have challenged some of my Republican friends to study the Constitution with me. I asked them to read a section and discuss with me what that section means. They have all refused. Most of them admit that the last time they read the Constitution was in high school. These are adults at least 50 years old. No wonder they are easily confused.
I think no matter how badly the Republicans behave, they will be ignored by their supporters. How else could Michelle Bachmann get elected.

Actually this mid term election outcome is a direct result of President Obama and the Democratic Leadership being too timid in their agenda.
Harry Reid should have suspended the filibuster rule at the start of the last congress and the Democrats should have pushed through a middle class agenda without the republicans or blue dogs. Remember Mitch McConnell threatening to go "nuclear" over the John Roberts and Alieto confirmations hearings to the Supreme Court, THEY WON and we lost!
I'm afraid we won't have that chance again for many years.
I'm 66 years old and my father and father-in-law told me about the republicans during their lives, and nothing changes, the republicans are the party of the rich- period!
Sorry to say but, the American people are too uninformed to get that the republicans are the party of the rich, most Americans watch biased news and think that they are being informed.
Sad to say but, until we have a prolonged depression, most Americans won't stop watching the television and really get what's happening.
Tom tells people how to win every day. He's the only talk show host that routinely asks people to get to a candidate or party office and volunteer. In my congressional district of almost a million people (West Metro Mpls) we have about 300 regular volunteers. That small group does all the work of finding candidates and doing party business. During an election cycle that number will ramp up to maybe 500-600. That's paltry. Double that number and we'd win more elections. Triple and we'd be unbeatable.
The one place you can have influence way out of proportion is within the party. There is no smoky room; you want in, just step up. It's not all phone calling and door knocking -we need web designers, pary planners, fundraisers, drivers, writers... Any shmoe can participate or become a party leader and really affect who gets nominated to run. Believe me, you'll quickly meet the movers and shakers in your state.
So when I hear people complaining that "those Democrats" should do this or shouldn't do that -well "those Democrats" are me and my buddies.
It could be you, if you really cared enough to live your values.
I WOULD LIKE TO SAY IS IF I WAS PRESEDINT OF THE USA I WOULD CHANGE ALOT. ONE THING IS I WOULD DO AS CLOSE OFF THE BOARDERS COLD TURKEY. DO SOME MAJOR HOUSE CLEANING. THE TRHIRD THING I WOULD AS CHANGE IT SO THAT OUR MONEY SYSTEM WOULD NOT BE OFF THE WORTH OF GOLD IT WOULD BE WORTH OFF THE THE PERSON. THAT MEENS THAT THE MORE MONEY YOU SAVE THE MORE YOU GET. THE MONEYS WORTH MORE THE MORE IS PRINTED. I AM DISABL,ED AND THERE IS MAJOR PROBLEMS BECAUSE I CAN'T GET A JOB AND IF I GET MARRIED I LOSE EVEN MORE BENNIFETS. IT SEAMS THAT THE DISABLED PERSON CAN'T GET AHEAD IN LIFE. ANOTHER THING IS THAT I WOULD DO IS CHANGE THE WORK WEEK. IT WOULD 3 DAYS PER WEEK AT 4 HOURS PER DAY. THIS IF YOU ARE PART TIME YOU DON'T GET BENNIFITS CRAP WOULD STOP. AS WELL I WOULD MAKE PUBLIC TRANSIT BETTER AROUND THE USA. PEOPLE TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THERE CARE AND THE CONVENIENCE OF JUST HOPING IN AND DRIVING ANY WHERE AT ANY TIME. I AM DISABLED AND I CAN'T DO THAT LEAGLEY BLIND AND IN A POWER CHAIR. I WOULD LIKE TO MAKE THESE CHANGES TO THIS COUNTRY. THERE WOULD NO LONGER BE A INCOME TAX. AND IF YOU ARE A DISABLED PERSON AND YOU DON'T HAVE A JOB OF ANY KIND BECAUSE YOU CAN'T WORK YOU WILL GET 3 TIMES THE MONEY THAN WHAT YOUR BILLS ARE. NOW EVEERYONE IS REQUIRED TO SAVE A MINUM AMOUNT OF 650.00 PER MONTH. ON TOP OF THAT LETS SAY THAT YOUR RENT IS 150.00 DOLLARS AND FOR EVERYONE FOR YOUR FOOD BUDGET YOULD BE PER PERSON 350.00 PER MONTH. YOUR LIGHTS ARE 375.00 PER MONTH. YOU HAVE A CREDIT CARD AND THE LIMIT IS 500.00 YOU WOULD GET PER MONTH 1500.00 FOR THE CREDIT CARD BILL. SO BASICLY THERE WOULD BE A MINIMUN ALLOWANCE TO ALL LEGAL AMERICANS. NOW IF THAT PERSON COMMITS A CHRIME THEY CAN BE PLACED IN PRISON AND THEN ASTER THEY SERVE THERE TIME THEY WOULD BE SENT BACK TO THERE OWN COUNTRY AND NEVER BE PRITMITED TO EVER BECOME A US SITIZIN. ONE THING IS I WOULD WOULD PROMOTE TOURSIM AND ENTERTAINMENT FOR EVERYONE. AS WELL THERE WOULD BE A MAX INCOME WAGE AND DEPENDING WHAT YOUR TRADE IS WHAT YOU ARE PAID AND IF YOU ARE A DISABILED PERSON THAT CAN'T WORK CAN EARN AT LEAST HALF OF THE MAIN WAGE. I am disappointed in Obama's reaction to the outcome of the election. He asserts that he failed to properly compromise with the right.
I digress.
The health care issue stands out. You can't deal with such mind sets by caving in to their lobby. You have to put your foot down and veto the garbage they offer as concessions to the objective. If nothing gets done and there is hell to pay as a consequence then so be it . All the concessions that Obama made on health care are now used against him to the point of repeal.That is what he gets for compromise , thats what he deserves for compromise and the rest comes in as a huge waste of time and money.

The Republicans are using numerous paradigms and layers of overt and covert attacks on The Obama administration; thus, moving the US down the tracks towards poverty in order to anger Americans enough they will all vote the Corporate owned Republicans in office.
Rhetorical Syllogism in paradox is a very successful argumentative tool that uses verbal aggressiveness which involves attacking President Obama's concept and also includes character attacks, competence attacks, ridicule, and threats (fear). along with one or more minor premises that are left unstated creating confusion and deletes any true commitment and is a very powerful argumentative approach.Get out your boxing gloves as this is a fight for our lives....

I am devasted after Nov 2nd. As long as we all listen to our own corners of the world and congratulate each other on our well thought out opinions, what happened Nov 2nd is our reward.

Please let the president know that you care that he takes care of business, the people’s business. Being a nice guy and friendly is one thing, selling out (the people, humanity) in a friendly way to be part of a Machiavellian crowd is quite another thing. Personally it’s hard for me to believe that the president actually wants to be that second kind of friendly nice guy. I, and I think most of us, want to believe that he is the nice guy who won the election and who really wants to do something, as promised, about immigration reform and not make it worse.

True. Medicare fraud needs to be cleaned up and the Justice Department is working on that.
Just because corporate boards give out huge compensations doesn't make it right. While we are at it, let's look at the inflated incomes of athletes, coaches and managers. Why didn't you mention those? It isn't the rich that drives the economy. It is the now defunct middle class. The 90% of the wealth held by the rich in this country buys only yachts and caviar and champagne. How many are employed in those industries? The working poor buy the milk and bread and cars. Henry Ford gave his workers raises so they could afford to buy his cars. Well?
And while we are at it, I say look at the Department of Defense budget and cut out the waste. You didn't mention that one. Why?
Education is important. If there were more readers in this country, elections like this one wouldn't happen. It would be nice to be #1 in the world in math and science education which we are not. We aren't even #2 or even #10.
And the health care system? We have now fallen to #49 in the world in life expectancy. This is an indicator of how bad the system is.
Looks like the Golden Rule is dead. And I'll take socialism over fascism any day.
