The Demise of the United States of America

Through the centuries civilizations and empires have risen and fallen. I will be discussing the death of the United States. History does repeat itself. Historians often look to the Roman Empire and I will be no different.

The Roman Empire fell for a variety reasons, such as lead poisoning through their use of lead pots and pans, the possible rise of Christianity, the hiring of mercenaries to fight their endless wars, and the slaves to do the domestic work.

Let us look closely at the demise of the United States of America. Our death is similar and yet very complex because our death occurs in the twenty-first century. The twenty-first century was supposedly more advanced and yet it was probably less advanced in terms of humanitarian reasons.

We can look at our deregulations of the environment that is killing off life from animal to human life. It is the United States fall from Christianity that has also aided in our demise. We turned our backs on Jesus Christ and accepted false prophets. These false prophets in our religions are clinging to the eight pillars for its strength. These eight pillars are hatred, murders, torture, war crimes, corruption, decadence, greed, and lies. These eight pillars gradually destroyed the mind, body, and souls of our citizens and our nation as a whole. We also hired mercenaries to fight our endless wars because the goose-stepping elitists have systematically killed off our children. We have also destroyed our middle class and hired people at slave wages. American corporations have also been instrumentally involved with our goose-stepping government by destroying the middle class with outsourcing our jobs and the hiring foreigners for less money. American lives have diminished steadily for decades.

Average Americans have developed a sense of hopelessness from our children to our adults. Our citizens and politicians have preferred screwing around and not parenting. Our teenagers are a great resource for us because they are into fairness and idealism. Fairness is not just for themselves but also for their friends and other people. They are also idealistic because they believe in a better world. Our country cannot be a role model for other countries because we have demoralized our people to the point that hopelessness and fear are rampant in our nation and among our people. We are already into the abyss of hell.

Goose-stepping Americans have a unique way of behavior toward people whom we consider different. We are great at stigmatizing people by bias, distrust, stereotyping, fear, embarrassment, anger, and/or avoidance.

Our evil and immoral ways have brought to us what we deserve our demise as a nation. People usually get what they deserve and goose-stepping Americans deserve death to their country.

"I'm probably talking to the wall, but there is hope. Today I got in touch with a Socialist organization out of North Carolina to see about setting up shop in Upstate South Carolina. Maybe next Election Day there will be Socialists on the ballot. 'I sure don't believe we are ever going to see a resurgence of the "American Dream" with the two parties in power now.' If I can't get it off the ground, maybe I'll join the Greens. Maybe we should all start thinking of alternatives. The status quo is killing us and it's really our own damn fault." - Timothy Gatto and seconded by Gerald

Gerald plans to be more of a socialist with some thoughts of green on his mind. To be an independent a person will be hit by a cars going both ways.

  • Who’s screwed if the Republicans take control of Congress?   14 years 33 weeks ago

I think it's probably easier to list the people who won't be screwed by a Republican takeover. At least it won't catch any of us by surprise. The Teabaggers on the other hand... they actually think the Republicans care about their interest. In the words of Sarah Palin: "Bless their hearts". They're in for a rude awakening when it's the same destructive Republican nonsense all over again. But then again, most of them are so delusional they probably won't even notice.

There's something kind of ironic about our messed up voting system and the Chamber's poisoning of the campaigns. If the Republicans succeed tonight, they're going to claim "the people rejected Obama's marxist, socialist, muslim agenda". Meanwhile, that's not even the least bit verifiable by any scientific means. For one, if you can't trust the vote because it's allegedly skewed towards the party of big business, then how can you claim the people are on your side? And two: if millions of foreign and big business dollars are spreading lies in key battleground districts, how can you claim victory is due to some so-called populist uprising? The only thing the Republicans could legitimately claim from victory is that their dirty tactics work. But they'll claim a mandate for sure, because they're slime.

If the Democrats manage to hold their ground, well, then that's a mandate. It means the people came out and were able to overcome the skewed voting machines and beat all the odds.

There's a nagging litte voice that tells me it'll be time to stick a fork in the little guy and turn him over...at least for a while; a long, long while. The problem is further compounded by the further we dig the whole, the tougher it will be to fill it in and climb out.

I remember when being a union member and a patriot were synonymous. My parents, grandparents etc were all happy that I was a teamster working for a police department. I had "union" benefits and they looked at me with a sense of pride. Now, I have a friend who manages a division of a smaller firm that's non-union and they are terrified that a union take over could happen. they do work to enrich the lives of their employees - they try to take 'care' of them. But they are the exception not the rule.

We need a Democratic version of Teddy Roosevelt!

Who else is screwed if Republicans take over? any LGBT former member of the military who can draw their military retirement. They can still loose it.

And I feel horrible for anyone who does not look Caucasian. We hear about the horrible issue of illegal immigration from mexico, but what about Europe? Anyone consider the volume of people from eastern europe who've overstayed or snuck in through canada? Not that they should be treated unfairly, but ALL of these people should be factored into the equation.

I am worried for the labor unions; I'm worried for the farm workers; I'm worried about the tide of racism, sanctioned and encouraged, we are about to see.

  • Who’s screwed if the Republicans take control of Congress?   14 years 33 weeks ago

Unions are an organized group of working class voters who have a line of communication outside the corporate media which can be a threat. Since the wages have eroded over time the unions have a shrinking pot of dollars to spend in support of candidates that hopefully would support labor friendly legislation. The total union dollars spent on candidates has not always been enough to assure pro labor support from those politicians in receipt of union support. I suspect the total dollars available for unions to spend pales in comparison to the pro corporate lobbying machines. As Thom mentioned it is no longer possible to follow the money spent by these "political" organizations.

As a baby boomer I am continually amazed at the successful historical vilification of unions oft repeated by those of my parents generation even by those whose financial health were due to in part or largely to the strength of the unions after World War II. I suspect that the portrayal of the oft violent encounters that unions had in the early days of organizing by the news services of the day contributed to this lasting antipathy towards the union movement. I am also sure that the repeated union corruption scandals (money/power/corruption cycles) helped cement these lasting impressions and bias.

My union in California had a surprinsing percentage of members who voted for our lame duck republican governor to reap his ongoing attack on state workers. The media myth ignores the fact that unions are made up of individuals of all poliitical persuasions who work for a living and do not have a unified political front.

I hope that this election will not lead to the further villification and limitations on the shrinking organized labor.

By the time Reagan attacked the Unions they had gotten so corrupt no one could justify putting up much of a fight. Rather than reform the Union Reagan and his spawn elected to destroy them.

So who is screwed if the Republicans gain control ?

It's the ones that are in control that have to answer to reprobation resulting from inequity. Short of a major reformation of conservative values they will continue to favor unsupportable economic inequity and it will be their undoing. JMHO

Speaking of not knowing how the government works; yesterday, John Boehner told voters in Ohio that their vote will send Nancy Pelosi back to San Fancisco. And this guy will most likely be the speaker of the house.

    President Obama:

Just how is Pres. Obama suppose to get out the message with all his accomplishments? TV only broadcast Rightwing Hate messages or Propaganda, never giving a positive slant to anything Pres. Obama has done. Other media outlets that aren't totally Rightwing, tend to focus on how much more Pres. Obama should have done. I am also guilty of this since Single Payer Medical was what we wanted. How does the message get out???

I was saving this comment for November 3, 2010 but why wait because the slaughter of the Democrats will be of epic proportions in this midterm election.

When Jesus was alive, He said, I AM THE WAY! Please remember that as long as Gerald is alive his comments are formulas and the way for JUSTICE AND PEACE IN THE WORLD! I may not always be right but I AM NEVER WRONG!

    Change

I gave a sister-in-law a list of thirty-seven areas and of the thirty-seven areas I would say that I am liberal in seven areas. My sister-in-law says that I am still liberal. How does a person reason with another person who reveals hatred, greed, corruption, jealousy, selfishness, and lies?

Commentators, I love your posts. I love your optimism, desire, passion, and dedication. Let me share with you an experience. I may have shared this experience before but I will share the experience again. In college Professor Elsasser shared with the class his experience on his orals for his doctorate degree in history. There were five people on his committee. He defended his dissertation very well. He was down to the finally committee member. The last member said that he did a good job in defending his dissertation but he was uncertain whether or not Mr. Elsasser knew history. Pursuing the dissertation meant writing reports, tests, reading article and a dissertation, etc. Now he had to answer one more question in defending his dissertation. “Mr. Elsasser in ONE WORD what is history?” All his work came down to one word. He was in a state of panic; he was numb; and he saw before him his fleeting dream to teach in college. The committee member said that the one word is CHANGE. Mr. Elsasser, as a history teacher, remembered the word CHANGE. He was granted his doctorate degree and he was now a history professor.

Commentators, I know your love for America. But, you must also remember the word CHANGE in history. America has changed and not for the better. We will never again be a democracy. We will never again be a land of dreams and hopes. We will forever be a land of nightmares and ruled by fear. America has changed for ninety percent of Americans.

Please do not be discouraged! Although we are now a nation where hatred and killing rule, we must draw ourselves closer to the true God. Find ways to survive in a fascist state where Hitler’s clone is the dictator! Let the true God guide us and not the bushgod or the obamagod! Continue to love and show mercy to all people because the prize will be God’s hug for us and He will say “Welcome home my faithful and good friend! Come, I have prepared a place for you.” All we now have left is God’s love and mercy for us. Give yourself to the true God! The true God is the answer for our eternal happiness. For ninety percent of Americans their earthly happiness is gone forever.

On November 2, 2010 we are witnessing the demise of dreams and hope for ninety percent of Americans. Ninety percent of Americans will experience ongoing depression through the Twenty-first century and well into the Twenty-second century.

Only God is constant. He will never change. His love and mercy are always with us. Along with God who never changes there is another truism. America’s culture of violence will never change. Please store in your computer Stephen Lendman’s article, “A Culture of Violence!” I need to share with you two more truisms. We have only one party in the United States of Mortal Sin and the name of the party is called the Money Party. The other truism is to realize we are so deep into a pool of shit in this country because we have no exit strategy from our pool of shit. We are trying to remove ourselves from this pool of shit but even with our effort we are gagging ourselves to death.

Please, will someone tell me what President Obama and Congress did on their own to increase spending? The TARP wasn't his (although he agreed to it before taking office), and the auto companies' deal is being paid back, right? So, it's just the health care plan that ramped up spending... no wait, we are getting $500B savings from Medicare fraud......so what are they talking about? I guess it's just the money for the States' budgets that we are talking about, right? Where is all this "runaway spending"? Please, someone clue me in. Thanks.

    Fairness Doctrine

Revival of the fairness doctrine forcing any medium promulgating one of opposing views to allow a contrary view gratus would alleviate the danger to one sided publicity. A constitutional amendment is the answer, but this will take a long time and if money has its way be impossible. Since the Democrats are likely losers when corporations rule with their money, they could ( but will they?) pass a fairness doctrine during the lame duck session if they lose in the election.

If successful, I recommend replacing him with Erwin Chemerensky. If we play like conservatives and try to impeach Thomas for his wife's ties, then we'll need others. I know this is a pipe dream but I would like to know of other potential progressive nominees. The Supreme Court is the biggest threat to our democracy at this time. As Louis Brandeis said: “We can have democracy in this country, or we can have great wealth concentrated in the hands of a few, but we can't have both.”

Correction: "Remember needing 50 votes for a Public Option, then it all of a sudden changed to 60 when the level of 50 was passed?"

  • Thom's blog - Monday November 1st, 2010   14 years 33 weeks ago

"75% of Americans . . . also fear that the Congress will not work to overturn it" -- because of Congress' excuse, used over and over since the new administration, that it needs 60 votes. Remember any clamoring for 60 votes during Bush II's terms? The Blue Dogs have taken advantage of the environment in order to cover their stripes. Remember needing 50 votes for a Public Option, then it all of a sudden it changed to 60 when the level of 50 was passed? That scenario said everything about their standing. Further, if the Citizens United ruling wasn't enough to cause emergency actions, without excuses, nothing ever would be -- for them.

Get ready for the new waves of "Austerity," Personal Responsibilities, and Self-Sacrifices -- as our president and new Congress (within 48 hours) works together -- even more.
