"Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired signifies, in the final sense, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and not clothed. This world in arms is not spending money alone. It is spending the sweat of its laborers, the genius of its scientists, the hopes of its children."

I know what you are thinking--what dirty, but rotten godless socialistic liberal scumbag said this? Well, it was the champion of conservatives across the land, General Dwight D. Eisenhower on April 16, 1953 before the American Society of Newspaper Editors. Read that quote again, after all President Eisenhower's administration was during America's Golden Years. Does today's Tea Party rhetoric match these words?

Why is the video on your homepage re-running the show from August 24th 2010? I just clicked on it thinking that I was listening to today's show and after listening to the whole hour I realized that it's a show from August! I must admit it all sounded like the same old story. Which brings me to my point: NOT Enough Has Changed!!! All the news sounds the same to me. It's all just a blur of corruption stories. What will it take and where will it end? Electing Progressive Candidates will be too little too late.

    To our stupid Americans

From Gerald, a Christian, a liberal, a pacifist, a progressive, and a socialist

Jeb Bush is brilliant. He is staying away from the limelight in order to come out as the Great White Hope for the Fourth Reich, aka the United States of Mortal Sin. Jeb Bush will be the next president of the United States of Mortal Sin on January 20, 2013. I have also commented that a Bush would become king in the United States of Mortal Sin. Elections will be eliminated and we will live with martial law forever. The United States is evil, vile, and wicked. We must never forget that our country will be involved in perpetual wars for profit and to keep Americans in fear so the American government can manipulate them with ease.

Richard Wolff has replaced Ravi Batra as a regular on the THP? While I miss Ravi Batra, Dr. Wolff is easier to understand vocally and content wise. He is able to condense macro issues into concise statements without a thick accent So, could you have him on more often? Also, can you get him to make some predictions like Dr. Batra used to do? It's the economy stupid.

All of my comments are directly posted from me and I want you to know that I am a Christian, a liberal, a pacifist, a progressive, and a socialist. The United States of Mortal Sin can only survive by becoming a socialist nation. Jesus was a socialist because He wanted all human beings to be included in the sharing of God's gifts.

    Dear Thom,

Here are some comments from your October 20, 2010 show. How can a person say anything to Dan and the Coke brothers? They have a rock for a brain. Thom, please limit your show to one conservative crazy calling you. Listening to conservative crazy callers discombobulates my comfort zone.

Farmers have an animal for a sex partner is truly asinine. Conservatives have a rock for a brain. Thank you for aggressively challenging the conservative crazies to name one person or a group of progressive billionaires who favor an increase in taxes and they benefit with their belief that the rich need to be taxed more. Thom do not take the crap from conservative crazies who talk to you and filibuster your show.

Yes, the conservative crazies want 100 billionaires in the United States of Mortal Sin to control ninety percent of the wealth. Thom, in my comment on the Secrets of Oz, from the time of George Washington the Republicans have always favored helping the rich to get richer. Personally, I believe the Republicans and the conservative crazies are terrorists. They want ninety percent of Americans to live in fear so they can manipulate Americans with ease.

    Sincerely, Gerald

P.S. Does any one recall my comments that Jeb Bush will be the GOP candidate for president in 2012 and HE WILL BE ELECTED THE NEXT PRESIDENT???

    :pigeon: pigeon: :pigeon: :pigeon: :pigeon:

Given a choice pigeons will choose a big immediate payout over a smaller immediate payout even though that over time the smaller immediate payout produces more pellets. No surprise. What is surprising is that the new conservative's may as well be pigeons but they are not, Pigeons are from :zknew: (sp?) and pigeon brained humans are from :earth: Time out 4 non pigeons to celebrate.

Lets end the charade once and for all. Ask the teabaggers, conservatives and/or Republicans who hate George Soros if they want to defang the fascist, socialist, communist liberal billionaire by increasing taxes on him and people like him 74%?

Turley: Obama administration attempt to set new precedent is 'disgusting'

A Supreme Court ruling could grant "absolute immunity" to former US Attorney General John Ashcroft and set a dangerous precedent in a 9/11-related lawsuit, according to George Washington University constitutional law professor Jonathan Turley.

Food , shelter and procreation. Irrepressible animal instinct. You no more attempt to repress sexuality than it wreaks havoc on the mind trying to repress it. Islam as practiced in many cultures is another example of the dangers inherent in such an enterprise.

Catholic priests another. Celabacy is every bit as unatuaral as homo sexuality, perhaps even more so. Seems you no more repress sexuality in your public life than biology kicks in and it surfaces in deviant behavior in your private life. Irrepressible biological impositions for survival that cannot be denied without physiological and mental consequences.

My concern with the proposed privatization of the Post Office is voter fraud. As more communities eliminate polling places/voting booths and move to all mail in ballots the opportunity for voter supression by private companies delivering/collecting ballots is obvious.

It's not surprising that the KATO Institute defends the integrity of the Pizza delivery guy. Because if they have their way that would be the high standard of career opportunity that anyone that is not a member of the "haves", could hope for. Perhaps one could have the dubious privilege of slaving away, enriching the bank accounts of the members of the KATO institute. Does the name Bob Cratchit ring a bell.

Please Mr. Tad. Can we put one more lump of coal in the stove? My fingers are frozen and I can't do the accounting.

    The Secrets of Oz

I had a chance to view the Secrets of Oz. I did not realize that Baum’s “The Wonderful World of Oz” was a clash between Republicans and their love for the rich and the Democrats who were more interest in the populist. I cannot share this video in detail because it was packed with many ideas and issues. I kept notes and I will try to highlight the video from my notes.

Americans are being robbed blind. We are headed for a depression that will be a mother load of all depressions. Banks are hijacking the people. Banks can create money and debt. Debt and foreclosures of homes are enslaving average Americans. Fiat money is not backed by precious metals. We have a fight between cheap money and gold money. Being indebted to the bankers makes our economic system worse! Plutocracy is being ruled by the rich. Only the government should create or issue the money at low interest rates or no interest. Banks want the private banks to create money.

Andrew Jackson was the only president who was able to pay out our national debt. He knew the Republicans wanted to divide our nation. Abraham Lincoln wanted the government to create or issue the money. He sought to create no interest lending of money to the people. Private banks have always sought to control the quantity of all the money. The fight was between who should create or issue the money – the government or the banks. After the death of Lincoln the banks again controlled the money. Recessions and depressions are created by the private banks who manipulate the money supply. Private banks are continuing to manipulate the money supply. Private banks want gold to back the money supply. Since gold is scarce, the money supply can be manipulated with more ease upon average Americans.

Private banks did not want the return of Greenbacks. If people controlled the money, that would mean less profits for these private banks. The wealthy have always been able to manipulate the money supply. We currently have a few powerful people who are controlling the money supply. These private banks create panic in terms of recessions and depressions. The presidents in the 1800s were assassinated because they wanted the government to create and control the money supply. With private banks controlling the scarce amount of gold they can easily manipulate our economy. The private banks push the idea that gold is the good money.

Private banks hate average Americans and they consider average Americans as inferior persons in our economic system. Foreclosures of home make it easier to control the people. High credit card interest rates also control the people. Throughout American history private banks have always sought to control the people and these banks have always fought to keep our government from creating and printing the money. Gold restricts the money supply because gold is scarce. Scarce money means the banks can inflict high interest rates upon the people. We are in a depression. By reducing the gold supply and a depression can be created. Government and silver can increase the money supply and you have economic prosperity.

What are our solutions at the federal and state levels for American economic prosperity? We need to create more commercial banks. Commercial banks can only loan the money they have and not borrow the money from private banks who can levy outrageous interest rates. To lend out money you do not have is a form of counterfeiting and counterfeiting is a crime. With private banks refusing to loan out money is a form of blackmail and blackmail is a crime. The government can print more money at low interest or no interest. It should be illegal to loan out money created by our private banks that is created by debt and the banks have created this debt. We have criminals loaning out the money.

States can create their own banks as commercial banks. Commercial banks can be circulating money without increasing our debt. Commercial banks can put the money in the hands of the people. State commercial banks should be modeled after the Bank of North Dakota. The bank of North Dakota and the state of North Dakota have a surplus of money.

There will always be a battle between private banks and government. Banks create printed money and charge people outrageous rates. The government can create printed money with low or no interest rates. Low or no interest rates will keep more money in the hands of average people. Will America and Americans be able to break free from the control of private banks, high interest rates, and our ongoing debt? Private banks keep our citizens confused. A solution is government issued money. Who controls the quantity of gold money will rule over the people. We must take away the power from private banks. Plutocracy means being ruled by the rich and to enslave average Americans. The people or government must be able to crate and print their own money. With private banks creating and printing the money supply at high interest rates that means we are also increasing our debt. We will be paying $700 billion as interest on our debt. State banks must model themselves after the Bank of North Dakota. We need to break away from the private banks who blackmail Americans through fear. We will also need to print Greenbacks and circulate silver. Private banks can be blamed for hunger, poverty, disease, and misery throughout the world with their policies and practices of scarce money supply, high interest rates, and the ongoing debt. The Federal Reserve Bank was created in 1913 and no one can audit their books. American taxpayers bail out private banks and the people are unable to look at the books of the Federal Reserve Bank. This bank can be robbing us blind and we have no control over its practices. Robbing people of their money is a crime but no one is going to jail.

    HARTMANN, YOU CHAMPION!

Loving you on RT. We got Comcast in Chicago, so no Free Speech TV, but we do have RT.

The show is great, almost an interactive approach. Also, we do get an occasional chuckle watching you adjust to it. Just settle down and stop thinking about the cues! People watching are on your side, remember that.

But yeah, just wanted to drop a note to congratulate you on your success. You're coming up nicely and that is a victory for all of us.

See you at the Great Debate,

    DW

It cost me $4.75 to FedEx a letter.

If you don't mind the cost of mailing a letter increasing by more than 1000%, then "Yes", by all means, let's privatize the Post Office. :(

Shall we also account for the cost of "overlap" to have a half dozen "private" mail delivery services all covering the same ground?
