Hey wanted to welcome you back to the east coast. I am assuming the DC move is to put you at the heart of all things political in our country. Hope to see you at the Colbert/Stewart Rally on the 30th.
Quickly one other thing I have wanted to run by you, and believe you will find quite interesting. A few weeks ago I happened upon a History channel show “all about” Thomas Jefferson. I found it quit odd when they kept referring to him as a republican. Now as you’ve informed us it was the Democratic Republican Party, I believe. But the corporate controlled so called History channel kept calling Jefferson a Republican (in a positive light, particularly positive toward the republicans). And one might question this considering there other point of “history” is that Lincoln founded the republican party….right?
I immediately though of you (and the M-F lessons provided care of your fine show) and wanted to let you know, maybe there is a show topic or something for you in this obvious misrepresentation of history, by the so called history channel. Just another dumbing down / repugnicant re-writing of history.
Thanks for all you folks do and welcome back to the East Coast!
Where's Ernst Roehm when you need him? Oh, that's right, Hitler arrested him and ordered him killed because he didn't need him any more. Allowing the leader of the Brown Shirts to live posed a danger to Hitler and his new band of thugs.
I have the answer to solve all this mess. This is the "flea flicker" that will succeed where nothing else will work. After all, we are "screwed" six ways from Sunday, unless something totally unexpected happens. Here it is...
We need to organize a totally peaceful national protest onslaught on Congress during a specified week to pass one common-sense law. This law will require all corporate boards to operate with 25% of their members coming from non-leadership workers.
That's it. That's the idea. Think about it. Who is the enemy? What is the only thing that is adhered to in this country? The law.
Please comment on this. Comments are what will get this started. Thanks. -GC-

Prop 20 – Installs NON-ELECTED . . . Not answerable to the public . . . Board in charge of re-districting. The Green party and other luminaries such as AARP, California Common Cause, the National Federation of Independent Business, the Latin Business Association, the California Chamber of Commerce, and Cal-Tax supporting it:
@rladlof, at our Green Party meeting a couple of months ago we disscussed our positions to all the props (so our voter guide to props could be posted on the Long Beach Greens site). On this particular Prop our main reason for voting no on it was because a previous prop (Prop 11) which had already passed dealt with redistricting on a smaller scale, but has yet to be implemented. Our consideration was that lets wait and see what the panel created by Prop 11 does (if they ever get their act together) prior to allowing a larger implementation of it.
Though I would be interested in getting the background information you have that lends credence to this Prop allowing "Priavte Interests" to control redisticting. Though we didn't recommend voting for this prop, we could have just as easily gone the other way since we didn't know of any real problem with it. I obviously need some education on it, if you can point me in the right direction, I'd appreciate it.
Last week my neighbor was diagnosed with cancer in his back. Why, because he had a heart attack and they found it then.
Now he had previously been to the doctor and requested tests, because he was experience problems. His insurance company did not find his complaint suitable enough to do the adequate test.
I live in Southern California, my neighbor has insurance, and he didn't get the appropriate health care.
For profit health care obviously is doing no better than Canada at its worst.
Golly Thom . . . The PRO Proposition 20 advertisement in on a loop on your show on KTLK 1150AM in Los Angeles . . . This is the Proposition allows “Private Interests” the chance to control redistricting. Most Progressive groups label it as the anti-democratic piece of crap that it is and urge a NO vote on it:
In regards to the CVS employee denying the $1 discount on an inhaler is more of a symptom of an employees' personal inability to see the bigger picture of the problem. Its the same thing that people experience when the want to make a purchase but can't because the cash registers computers are down and the employee believes they are incapable of doing the transaction without the computer up and running. Obviously any one with common sense knows you don't need a computer to make a transaction, but such employees are little more than automatons, they are incapable of thinking outside the box.
Of course this story begs further questions, such as:
1) Was the CVS store manager unaware of the issue and didn't override the lower employees' decision not to discount? (I'd be surprised that the manager was unaware of paramedics and and ambulance at the store).
2) Was there no other customers in the store, and if there were other customers, could not one of them out of the compassion for their fellow human beings spare a buck? (Perhaps we do prefer being a "Me Society")
3) Was there no other inhaler available at a cheaper price?
4) Why didn't the customer just open the package, take a draw from the inhaler and just deal with the consequences of the police coming and dealing with the misdemeanor charges that the store would probably be reluctant to pursue if the boyfriend could have gone and fetched a dollar in the interim between the time the crime was committed and the time the police arrived to deal with the "shoplifter"?
There are a lot of things about this story that makes me wonder just how stupid were all the parties in this case?
Sharron Angle grew up in Reno, and still lives there today -- you would think that her hometown would rally around her Senate candidacy, right?
Turns out, not so much. Yesterday the Reno-Gazette Journal, endorsed Senator Reid. Here's their headline and a snippet:
Replacing Sen. Reid with Angle would be a disaster for Nevada "Angle has few accomplishments to claim for her eight years in the Nevada Legislature. And her much touted commitment to principle is questionable. The Republican candidate says that the federal government can't create jobs, but a federal-government-created job provided her family with a comfortable life, the same health insurance plan as the one available to members of Congress and a nice retirement."
Question: Why teachers don't have to have annual performance review like all other professions??? I don't get it. Besides teachers, & maybe supreme court justices, what other job can you keep w/o acceptable results? Regardless of the reason? I'm a liberal from CA. Oakland, but I can't agree with leave the teachers be, let's collaborrate with educators and poor, illiterate parents!!!!
On the topic of Fox news, I would like to start a campaign to cable providers to remove Fox from their "news" package. Including them in the news package is like including porn in a health station package.
OH-IO is Fired Up and Ready to GoTonight 35,000 supporters joined the President and First Lady in Ohio, the largest crowd for a rally so far this year. The excited crowd showed that folks are fired up and ready to get out and make their voices heard once again in this election. ...I have been working the phones for Organizing For America and I would love to hear some of our Progressives talk show host talk about how fired up everyone is to vote. How about some positive words out there. Everyone person I have called is fired up and ready to go Vote or has voted already.
