G Wonderwheel -- I think Thom believes that the billionaires will harm Bernie so much that HIllary will win. He wants to assure that Hillary will beat any repug she runs against. Consequently, Thom does not want to speak of any evil against Hillary.

  • Dammit...Donald Trump is right again!!   9 years 28 weeks ago

I remember hearing the news in July 2001 with my own ears and the story read: SAUDI NATIONALS LEARNING TO FLY JET PLANES IN A FLORIDA FLYING SCHOOL, AND NOT INTERESTED IN LEARNING TO LAND!!! I wish more people would be aware of this fact, it is just so incriminating for the Bush presidency!!!

  • Dammit...Donald Trump is right again!!   9 years 28 weeks ago

Bush's administration didn't do nothing. They allowed this false flag event to occur to cement support for the Patriot Act. The steel could not have melted like it did without nitrites positioned strategically, survivors in the basement heard deafening explosions before the collapse and the steel was scooped up & shipped to Scandinavia for melting as soon as humanly possible. Also there was steel photographed which had been blown outward; that can't be from a collapse.

Bush didn't do enough to STOP the 9/11 attacks?!? He was an active participant!!! He didn't just let it happen, he helped it along, as did other government officials.

Over the last 14 years there has been so much evidence uncovered that we were lied to about the events before, during and after the attacks.

For those who want to learn more, google "Loose Change", then follow the trails.

The events of 9/11, as told by the government, we're a BIG FAT LIE! And it's time WE THE PEOPLE stopped ignoring this ballroom-sized elephant.

Yes. Let US accept truth from any source, no matter how rich or courageous, you think⁉

  • Poll: Hillary Clinton Won the First Dem Debate   9 years 28 weeks ago

Hillary appealed to Georgetown and Georgetown replied. The Punditocracy won it for her with pre-conceived views. Bernie didn't grovel to win votes. Let's see who wins next winter. It won't be Clinton, not unless the Clinton supporters in the 4th estate have done to principle what they did did to truth when it came time to circle their wagons 'round Bill during his second Lewinsky-dominated term.

Bernie didn't appeal to the quick wisdom easily whipped up n' over crowd on responsible gun control ... and for that, voters will remember this a lot more favorably in the key early bellweather states of NH, Iowa and South Carolina. Lots of Democratic voters who are also responsible gun owning citizens. And they'll remember that without a moment's worth of pambering for their votes, Bernie never forgot them. And they won't forget him.

HILLARY WON THE 2016 ELECTION!!! We polled the head CEOs of the Fortune 500 companies and determined that corporate dominance of the working class would best be preserved by a corporate Democrat in the WH. A corporate Democratic president will forestall the development of any annoying popular resistance as we proceed wholesale with our agenda of completely dismantling all vestiges of the New Deal. Hillary serves our interests fair better than a racist, wildcard renegade like Donald Trump. The campaign will continue-- after all, we are never rich enough, but it has been determined: Hillary Is Best. Deal with it losers. HILLARY WON THE 2016 ELECTION!!!

    That is all.

Hillary Clinton did NOT WIN JACK SHET!! The Republican OWN MEDIA LIED about it, and we have PROOF to PROVE IT!

These DIE HARD EVIL REPUBLICAN'S want to RELIVE the 8 years they HARASSED and ABUSED the Clinton's, and thats ALL they are going to do if Hillary wins!

Truthfully, I want a break from that! For they MADE UP CRAP on Obama, but they have MONICA BLUE DRESS TO KEEP UP THEIR BS; LET'S MAKE SURE WE GET BERNIE ELECTED! And we KNOW, they will be trying to TIE Bernie to CRAP he had no interaction's in, just as they did with Obama!

These are some very serious EVIL PEOPLE, and we NEED TO COME TOGETHER to RID our GOVERNMENT and STATES OF THESE REPUBLICAN DEVILS, DESTROYING THE AMERICAN PEOPLE!

FOR SATAN IS ALIVE AND WELL, AMONG WITHIN THE TEA PARTY REPUBLICAN NEO-NAZI PARTY!

They call it a "Monkey Pole" but it seems more like Monkey Business. How long will it be before we laugh out loud about anything corporate news media says before switching to another channel or turning our televisons off? When news and analysis programs that are meant to benefit the public are transformed into a propoganda machine to benefit corporate owners, what can you expect?

The attempt to influence the public mind is also becoming bold in popular television. Take the show "Madam Secretary" on CBS, which aired in early October, 2015. Three actors, playing roles as high ranking assistants to the Secretary of State in this popular television show sang a song touting the, as yet, undisclosed benefits of the Trans Pacific Partnership (TPP) at a State dinner honoring its members. If the benefits of the TPP are so wonderful, like GMOs, why do they refuse to make them public?

While we're at it, what about all the liquor ads on TV shows? It seems, every time someone arrives home or goes to lunch, the first thing they do is pour or order a drink of wine, beer or hard liquor and then stare into their glass as they let out a deep sigh of relief. Pills and alcohol for everyone - is that it? As the need for greed creeps deeper into the capitalist soul, it seems the goal is to turn the rest of us into freely accessible "cash cows", 24/7. What happens when our pockets are empty and there are no more jobs to provide us with the means to refill them?

  • Republicans' "relief" plan for students is a gift to banksters!   9 years 28 weeks ago

Best thing to do is require all student loans be made from public banks at 1% interest. Why let private banks create the money for the loans out of thin air, and then get to charge an exhorbitant interest on that money.

Allowing private banks to create our money supply out of thin air is the greatest case of welfare in the history of human civilization. They aren't even taxed on that gift.

If you want to make education affordable, it's simple. Fifty percent of students fail. Charge them double and give the ones that pass it for free. This way only the students that are serious about there education will go and save tax payers millions.

  • Poll: Hillary Clinton Won the First Dem Debate   9 years 28 weeks ago

No question the debate results were alterd the following moring after corporate had an opportunity to weigh in. The perspective from social media, however, is polar opposite. Such a refreshing contrast though, to have Sanders and his view of the world on such a national stage against those other corporate tools who wake up every morning chanting the "big business is our savior" mantra. The fundamental truth about Sanders is that he's not afraid of real citizen driven democracy and if given the chance in that arena he'll win every time against the corporate democrats. The revolution that he speaks of is about bringinging back real democracy and the American Dream. He knows corporate America has been holding it hostage, but unlike previous attempts from other progressives he's positioned himself to actually deliver that message effectively. What's so comforting about him is that he can't be bought and that unlike the others on that stage Tuesday evening his responses aren't manufactured by some focus group or professional handlers. He's been giving the same answers to those types of questions for years, as many of us have witnessed ourselves on Thom's Brunch with Bernie segment way back when he was America's Congressman. He doesn't have to stop and think about his answers.

    EXPERIMENT:

Assemble a group of S's who did not watch the first Dem. debate but who thought Clinton won because they were told so by the media. Have them watch the complete debate and see:

    1) how many change their opinion,

    2) do those who change their opinion have any observations about the media's performance,

    3) what proportion stay with the media's opinion?

BTW Thom, NLP 101 teaches us that it's "remember" rather than "don't forget."

Thanks for your shows and to the folks who support same. (I still miss the Friday tribute to your father and the Sachmo theme.)

Klein's comment that the problem is not "just carbon" reminds us that the first step in solving a problem is defining what's inside the total problem-space. Only then can we set up an intelligent, practical series of programs focused on an effective solution. Decentralized power, both in the literal and figurative senses, will be a central and necessary component.

An aside: We need a NASA for solar energy to quickly improve efficiency of panels, energy storage and bidirectional distribution techniques.

More education without more jobs means massively more dissatisfaction -- not to mention more college debt, which should be reduced in the future by bringing colleges back to teaching, instead of hiring twice as many administrators as instructors, building campuses like destination resorts, pouring hundreds of millions into sports and financing themselves like hedge funds and/or political candidates, while paying poverty wages to the youngest profs who actually do the work (as part-timers with no benefits).

Putting taxpayers on the hook for yet more largesse to the criminally greedy is really stupid. Yes, students need help with their onerous debt and must have it, but making it easier for kids to attend colleges like these (or patronize the for-profit scams in strip malls that cost even more) isn't a correct answer to anything.

  • We Shouldn't Honor Genocidal Colonialists-End Columbus Day Now   9 years 28 weeks ago

I've got no problem with telling the truth about Columbus but as a poster above points out we shouldn't candycoat the savagery that our own Natives displayed in the subgugation of other indigenous peoples.

The “Reaganomics” segment notes that the horrors started in the early-‘70s, - courtesy of Lewis Powell’s memo to moneyed biggies. Poli-sci-tists had just noticed a “sea change” toward this awfulness, - so the Powell memo irritated us mightily. The memo is treated at http://reclaimdemocracy.org/powell_memo_lewis/ .

  • Poll: Hillary Clinton Won the First Dem Debate   9 years 28 weeks ago

Guess who BOUGHT NBC/MSNBC???? Comcast!!! I wouldn't believe their poll if i was paid to! "Corporations....start your engines.... the SPIN has begun".

  • Poll: Hillary Clinton Won the First Dem Debate   9 years 28 weeks ago

This is all HOOEY HYPE! I wonder how much the Clinton's Bankster buddies like Goldman Sacks etc. paid to spin this yarn?! Because she's a woman, she got more time than anyone else.... It would be interesting to see how many questions she was asked first and how much total time she got. I want to see a one on one with Bernie & Hillary!!! How will she answer the question of all the money she took from her bankster "friends" and why it was so important to go to Texas first to get donations from her "backers" - corporately owned subsidiaries...... Bernie will NEVER sell US out. I can't say the same for Hillary... Her actions (and silence) indicate she places politics OVER We The People. Bernie's a straight-shooter and unlike Trump, Bernie is CORRECT!

  • Republicans' "relief" plan for students is a gift to banksters!   9 years 28 weeks ago

Aye Thom,... I concur Reptilians should come up with SOLUTIONS... But they have brains the size of a pea remember? Extinction seems to be the onlt solution and if Democrats don't get out there and VOTE, that won't happen.... "Bernie 2016 - Because FTS!"

  • Republicans' "relief" plan for students is a gift to banksters!   9 years 28 weeks ago

That sounds like a republican idea, taking on the public's concern and seeing which of their party's corporate backers they can help in the process, you know, doing something in the name of good while doing something that's actually in the name of greed. That is, doing something that they say will help a problem but will actually make matters worse and the only beneficiaries are the corporations (in this case the banks), millionaires , and the politicians who get more campaign funds and the promise of a lucrative career after politics. Just about everything republican politicians propose has this blueprint.

Free tuition for community college or trade school.

No loans, no scum bag bankers.

Just pass an exam to show mastery of prerequisite skills.

Dodd-frank has limited banks from taking the risks of the past. The Banks have to become more creative with old business? Such things as refi student loans to get their claws even deeper into young people or attacking the market cap. of Walmart to force mass layoffs? The faces of my co-workers said it all "the biggest company in the world just went broke"! OVERNIGHT? This raid has been brewing and is not going to be an isolated incident? Bankers need massive disruption to make money in an economy where billionaires hoard assets to make fear videos about how hard they have it? Do we really need a 4 trillion dollar emergency fund over at the FEDERAL RESERVE BANK OF N.Y. when banksters are trying to break companies down or further indebting our brightest young people?
