Keep the flame on the idiots pal,
"if we can but prevent the government from wasting the labours of the people, under the pretence of taking care of them, they must become happy." - Thomas Jefferson to Thomas Cooper, 29 November 1802
Not good for the economy
I am enamored with the strategy Thom discusses concerning spend when in power...scream deficit when not. My research has found an interesting graph to support that. I would like some more info on the origin of it.
If natural phenomena can be described by a standard normal distribution, this would suggest that we are facing 1,500 years of rising temperatures followed by 1,500 years of falling temperatures.
If true, given the current wide spread occurrence of temperatures over 100 F ...well there is no fracking way we are coming out the other side of this one.
I'm going with Poison
Quote from Thomas Jefferson, 1802
"I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around the banks will deprive the people of all property until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered."
Ever get tired of hearing about how corporations should "Give us jobs!" To me, I feel like we Americans are on our knees begging for pennies. It is so annoying to hear all of the whimpering about how much gold the corporations have in their coffers and they are not being very nice and share.
Radio Personality Tirelessly Pooh Poohs criticisms of Democratic Party to the Detriment of the Country
Our money (borrowed) by Reagan, Bush & Bush was spent in the area of defense, growing the Military Industrial Fear Complex. I don't have the supporting information though I would bet the farm that this part of our economy was the beneficary of our national debt. This information needs to be part of the discussion of what we are facing in the current debt discussion and what the priorities are in the expenditure of the treasure, work, of the people of the USA. Fear or Hope?
