North Carolina State Senate voted to ban the use of accepted, objective science to predict sea level rise in the state. They didn't just ignore science-based decision making—they forbid its use.1
I am just an average citizen who listens to progressive radio to find out what is really going on. I heard on the radio the other day that every Republican Lawmaker in our congress has signed a pledge of some kind with Grover Norquist and they are all sticking to it regardless of the effect on the American taxpayers they serve.
Ole Miss Home To Medical Marijuana Lab

Oxford, Miss. -- The only reason 73-year-old Elvy Musikka still has her sight, she says, is she's been smoking pot for the last 30 years. "In 1975, my doctor told me if I didn't start using marijuana, I'd go blind," said Musikka. "Shortly thereafter I found out that, indeed, it was the only thing that would help me with my glaucoma."
It's time we restored some of the simple regulations we passed in the 30's to protect our consumer deposits such as restoring Glass-Stegall. Regulations from preventing banks from lending themselves money with our consumer desposits as happened with the savings and loan scandal in the 80's when this financial sector was deregulated. The monies we desposit in financial instituions should be protected from abuse and fraud. I've also started a petition at WhiteHouse.gov to get the administration to respond.
I am a simple person and going to ask simple questions. I hope to find answers.
My first question is about banking system. Do we really need private banks? What if replace them with one publicly owned bank.
Below are few benefits of doing so:
1. Banks are supposed to provide money to make real goods and services we all need. It is like water, air. Money is utility. There is no benefits for society when money makes money except for people involved.
I have a great idea for how to control guns. What do we do with other "dangerous" items? We insure them. If you want ot drive a car you are supposed to have liability insurance. Let's demand that guns not only be registered but also that gun owners carry liability insurance.
