My "Mr. Mom" Grandfather

My "Mr. Mom" Grandfather

Here I am in my parents' house, with no internet connection -- I tried, and even "Smart Riverside" could not connect for me -- as my wife sorts through my parents' piles of belongings with me at the ready when she needs help.

Meanwhile, I am sorting through memories as well.

Railroads and mercury in the United States.

There are two maps in this picture. One is of plotted points of railroad track distribution from the National Atlas of the United States, and the other is a map of plotted points of Mercury Deposition from the USGS site online.  Can you see differences?

Senate GOP Blocks Veterans Benefits Bill

ABC News

Republicans blocked the veterans bill from moving on a procedural vote, which needed 60 votes......The final tally was 56-41.

Republicans and Democrats normally agree on the need to enhance benefits for the nation's 22 million veterans and their families; but Republican senators wanted to lower the amount of spending on the bill.

The GOP senators also wanted to include a measure that would have imposed new sanctions against Iran, which President Obama has warned against doing at this time.

Raising the min wage isn’t enough, double the taxes on the top 10%

And restore the 99%’s public goods and services to their absolute maximum. And that includes Veteran's benefits

Leading Science academies bluntly lay out humanities end by runaway global warming.

Corruption and Politics

I think that more people including all media organizations should be talking more about Chris Christie and his affiliations today, and historically. More and more, it seems as if people are downplaying Bridgegate and his history as a passive aggressive type governor. I believe his actions are a consequence of something more than a passive agressive predisposition.

Why so much resistance to healthy diet change

Although I don't make a big deal of it, many people notice that I do not eat animal corpse (meat) I do this because of the disastrous health problems which occur from a lifetime of eating dead bodies. I went Vegetarian at age 25 I am now 59 and in perfect health, ya perfect. When I first started it was because of the mistreatment of animals which as everyone know has gotten much worse in the last 29 years.

Inspection- Counting My Life in Collie Years

We've had so many collies, "collie years" seems apt, though "dog years" would work as well.

Attention American Earthpeople:
The Minumum Wage of American workers should be raised to at least $10.10 an hour in order to have it equal to 1968 wages, as President Obama and other Progressives insist, but why does he and others neglect to add that it should also be linked to the Cost of Living Index, and to the annual Rate of Inflation like Congressional salaries are linked? Wouldn't that be even more fair and pragmatic?

Here's what the feud and reconciliation between John Adams and Thomas Jefferson can teach us about civility

Thom plus logo Donald Trump did not invent the art of the political insult but he's inflamed the level of vitriolic public discourse and incivility to a new low unmatched by other presidents. In a tainted tradition that has permeated our history, other presidents have not been immune to dishing out acerbic insults against one another.
