The Definitive Answer On Climate Change (Sort of)

The definitive answer on climate change is that it is irrelevant.

“Bill McKibben: the climate movement needs to get confrontational”

The Washington\Wall St\Big Oil\Corporate Media nexus is not going to relinquish a money laden way of life easily. In fact, I'd hazard a guess that we are welcome to suffer and die before that happens.

vShellack 1, and then went on to Shellack 2: doing the same thing twice and expecting a different result…

I don’t need to finish that phrase. But I’m thinking somebody in the White House..,NAMED BARAC OBAMA…may be having trouble with a behavior pattern. An addiction perhaps?

And there wouldn’t be a Scott Walker if Obama had led the Democrats to approve comprehensive campaign finance reform when they had the chance during the start of Obama first term.

VOTE! Despair is NOT an Option

To get more voters to the poles, candidates must provide them with as many honest and compelling reasons to vote as they can. It's important to thoroughly remove the Emperor’s clothes, which includes exposing our own reasons for voting the way we do or deciding not to vote at all. Life is a creative challenge and we’re all in it together! As senator Bernie Sanders suggests, if we’re really serious about democracy, we should declare a national holiday for voting. Perhaps, we should even fine ourselves for not voting as Thom suggests.

Lifesize: no vote, no right to gripe

if we want to unseat the right, hw about working to make people realize the need to vote. it's only that that led to the recent electoral debacle. why don't we just remind people how easy voting is (still, despite rightist shenanigans) and how it's the one tool they have in choosing who rules. if the people don't rule, the owners will, always and everywhere.

A Congress for perpetuity...

Thom, I've been getting a lot of unexpected feedback on the "people have spoken" cartoon I sent about the GOP agenda. Surprised to find I have a lot of friends that are pleased the Dems have been kicked out, though they don't offer reasons the GOP is a better alternative. Here's the response I sent to several of my erudite friends, one of whom lives in Canada and another in Mexico.
Response to my conservative friends:

Idea for dysfunctional Congress

It appears President Obama has tried a myriad of strategies to get something done in the White House. I have an idea, hire a professional mediation team and make Congress stay in session until they come to agreement both left and right accept. DOD personnel work overtime, even teachers work on their time off to get the job done. Can Obama make Congress work overtime? It makes complette sense, as a state employee I get fired if I don't get my job done. If I have to work from home then I work from home. It's not uncom

America: Meet Your Overlord Rupert Murdoch...

Thom plus logo The main lesson that we've learned so far from the impeachment hearings is that if Richard Nixon had had a billionaire like Rupert Murdoch with a television network like Fox News behind him, he never would've resigned and America would have continued to be presided over by a criminal.
