2017: The Revenge of the Women

2017 started at one of the bleakest moments for American women since the birth of the modern feminist movement in the 1960s. Women faced the prospect of being governed for the next four years by an admitted sexual predator and a Republican Congress hellbent on taking away their health care. To make matters worse, White women had actually put Trump in office, voting against the first female for President. &

"Pathologically rich" not "Morbidly rich"

"Morbid" refers to a concern about death or illness, and typically refers to the person's own death. On the other hand, "pathological" refers to the quality of producing harm to others. I'll grant you these are approximations, but they're essentially correct. When we speak of persons with socially dangerous personalities we say "psychoPATHS or socioPATHS" while those who are continually worrying about their own death, we say they have"morbid personalities".

A New Year Wish...Thom's next article is...

Addressing the upper middle class looking forward to their $2-$4000 tax cuts/returns...

At what cost???

A recession that will hurt everyone? 41 million Americans living in poverty? 9 million children losing healthcare? Higher college costs especially for grad students? The blue states paying even more? Debt and deficit paid for by our kids and their kids?

DEVOLVING

MORE and more each day , what we used to believe was a democracy by electing the choices given us of tweedledee or tweedledum, we now have devolved into a PLUTOCRACY, of a "GOVERNMENT by the WEALTHY". EVERY Canadian and American should watch the documentary 'Plutocracy' to see just how bad it used to be before UNIONS gave us ALL a voice and partial democracy in the work place.

Not a $1,000 tax cut, but a $1,000 high interest loan!

The king believed that he had new clothes, but the people didn’t believe it. Trump is now trying to convince everyone that his “tax reform” legislation is a huge boon for the middle class, when he knows that’s pure bullshit. He seems to be hoodwinking some of his trusted supporters so far.

MEDICARE AND THE NEW TAX PLAN

I RECENTLY RECEIVED A STATEMENT FROM SOCIAL SECURITY FROM WHICH OUR MEDICARE PAYMENT IS DEDUCTED MONTHLY. WE WERE SUPPOSED TO GET A 2% RAISE AFTER YEARS OF NO INCREASES BUT THIS IS WHAT HAPPENED.

THE INCREASE WAS ADDED TO CREATE A NEW AMOUNT BUT AT THE SAME TIME THE SAME AMOUNT WAS ADDED TO THE MEDICARE PAYMENT SO THAT THE NET INCREASE WAS ZERO. WHAT THEY GAVE THEY IMMEDIATELY TOOK AWAY SO NO INCREASE IN FUNDS FOR ME. I ASKED ANOTHER FRIEND AND THEY DID THIS TO HIS SOCIAL SECURITY AS WELL.

To the Congress of the United States, Regarding the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017:

Before you hallow the bill before you into law, I implore you to consider what you are doing.

This country was founded on a simple but radical idea: that a crown of gold does not set one person higher than another, and that commoners have the same intrinsic rights as nobility. Before you make a mockery of that ideal with this wretched bill – before you destroy everything our patriots fought and died for – please consider the following.

Thom's recent apology to the woman who tried to sing on air

Since this will be reviewed by staff, I have to admit that I'm not sure this is the right place to post this. I've been a listener/fan for YEARS, but I'll never call in - it's just not something I can do. Feel free to edit and/or ignore, but I was very moved today.

Here's what I want to say:

Thom, I was listening when you cut off the woman who tried to sing; I was also bothered by what happened, and I felt at the time that you were too, especially since you went to great lengths (always sounding uncomfortable) to explain why you were doing it.

NOTE FOR OVAL OFFICE OCCUPANT

Watch out, Donald! The women are after you and their fury is righteous. You may be about to experience your worst nightmare-----being shamed, outmanuvered and brought down by an unmanageable, unstoppable, inexorable tsunami of females.

CALL it WHAT it REALLY is, CORPORATE CENSORSHIP.

Want to watch your favorite news program sources like FREE SPEECH TV , FSTV , suddenly you'll have a hard time connecting , but your internet provider like COMCAST will give you the 'option' of FOX NEWS as a source.

Just think about it, want to search the past history of a politician you feel is dishonest yet the darling of corporate America or Canada, you'll be given that circling the drain on your screen until the search times out.

Here's what the feud and reconciliation between John Adams and Thomas Jefferson can teach us about civility

Thom plus logo Donald Trump did not invent the art of the political insult but he's inflamed the level of vitriolic public discourse and incivility to a new low unmatched by other presidents. In a tainted tradition that has permeated our history, other presidents have not been immune to dishing out acerbic insults against one another.
