Thom - There is nothing in the Constitution that prevents convicting and jailing a sitting President
The media makes this assumption all the time, but the reality is that there is nothing that prevents indicting, trying, convicting, and even (in the case of treason) executing a sitting President or any other elected official. One of the most basic principles of this country is that no one is above the law. That includes Presidents. Admittedly, finding an unbiased jury would be incredibly difficult, but the fact that something is impractical does not mean it cannot legally be done.
Actually, the title says it all. Has anyone seen any mention of the CRC during the government shut-down. I blogged and called Sherrod Brown about it and just sent out an email querry on the subject to my entire mailing list. kww
Tuesday January 23, 2018Why more people aren't talking about the Asian oil spill as big as Paris.
It's an oil spill the size of Paris. But only now is the world's attention catching up with the vast scale of the disaster in the East China Sea — the largest tanker spill in decades.
I want to say thanks to Mark Pocan for being a standup political guy ...... too bad we did not have more like him ..... plz folks get people in masses to vote and ALWAYS vote anytime for more progressive idea people that CAN and WILL meet in the middle . It IS TRULY what makes ..or used to make us GREAT !! Again thanks to Mr POCAN
This gross, despicable inequality is the problem, worldwide. No number of pink cap protests, valid as they may be, will alone address or relieve this horror. Protests must be universal, must include and welcome – urge - ALL the 99 percent to join in active, boisterous dissent. Protestors should demand, as starters, a vigorous wealth tax and a near 100 percent inheritance tax. Anything less is whistling in the wind. Where the hell are the leaders?
“I will accept any deal on immigration that the Dems and Republicans agree on. I will take all of the heat and sign whatever they agree on” (guess who)
Tired of all of these give and take mindfu-k messages from the *president? Is this guy whacked or what?
Has he even had a normal heartbeat, pulse or thought in his entire life? If truth were to be known, he would surely list masturbation as his favorite sport.
It's been reported that Paul Ryan has recently told colleagues he will not seek re-election. And why should he? The way I see it he has two choices: Door #1 — run again and risk being defeated by a blue-collar worker in the 2018 Blue Wave, i.e., go down in disgrace and never be heard from again, or Door #2 — be set for life by cashing in on one of the multi-million dollar payback jobs surely being offered by grateful benefactors, now that he gave them their tax cuts. If you were him, which would you choose?
