Mega corporations don't want educated Americans, trained and ready to work. They want to convince the government that the only educated workforce has to be imported and paid less.
I think that it's time for the handful of activist baby boomers who know what it's like to take to the streets and feel empowered by the strong sense of community among each other to keep the momentum going, reach out and walk shoulder to shoulder with the Lost generation. They deserve better and what better way for the baby boomers to spend their golden years, than to be there for our kids in this time of serious uncertainty?
Let me begin by saying I supported Obama actively, but became disillusioned when I saw him using Bush and Clinton advisors in his cabinet. Right then I could see that we would be getting "more of the same", and we did. He is out on a road trip making more promises he cannot possibly carry out, while his backers are being very busy "bundling" hundreds of millions. The GOP are even worse. I decided that rather than beating my 86 year-old head against a stone wall, I would join a movement that seeks to completely reorganize our government through peaceful means, supported by millions of Americans who have been pushed into the gutter during the past 30 years or so. That movement is "Occupy Wall Street" and it is the most homogenous and unifying organization I have ever experienced. No promises, no empty rhetoric, no "big money" influence, no lies, no greed and no disonesty. What a refreshing wave has poured over those of us who see its promise and have joined its ranks!.
I think that the GOP's goal is to destroy this country. They want to eliminate anything that helps the people of this country. Clean Air, Water and Land, Edible safe food, affordable healthcare, jobs that pay a living wage, affordable banking, non-corrupt politicians, etc.
They are shooting for 100% rejection of his policies, I fear they will accomplish their goal.
And the older generation has seen their hard-earned retirements being flushed down the drain during the recent voracious Wall St. speculation, plus being threatened with doing away with Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid, for we are "not worth the trouble or expense". That's exactly why I chose to align myself with the "Occupy Wall Street" movement at age 86, as it is an umbrealla organization for everyone whose rights have been trampled upon by the wealthy.

This is what you, the people, need to do among yourselves, for yourselves, in a well organized manner.
We need to let youth know that they are very important to the success of our nation. Not simply from a financial perspective, but also from the point of our environment, our health, our food, our aged, all of which can effect either positively or negatively the future of our country. And we need to actively engage them in the dialogue from start to finish. That way, they will learn from us and we from them and perhaps we will find the way to a better nation.
You are still important and your effort toward this end, is valuable. We must all work together in synchronization to bring this about.
The new generation, as you call them, are many of the same people which lived upon this earth several lifesteams ago, whether one, two or more lifestreams is irrelevant. So those who built nothing in their previous lifestreams but instead followed the 1% time and time again, allowing their own destruction, will continue to place themselves back into like situation until they get it right. You could say you reap what you sow.
If we put poison in the water from pharmaceutical chemicals in one lifestream, we are going to drink it when we come back in the next.
The world which we create now is going to be the one which we will inherit tomorrow in our next incarnation.
So please do not be so hard on yourself and your generation, but instead see what you can do to improve the situation of all, for when you help everyone out of this bondage they are consistantly in, lifestream after lifestream, you are also improving your own situation..
I would add tp the above that during the winter months the jobless youth can peacefully boycott establishments and businesses owned by the uber-wealthy and enlist their friends to do the same. This takes some research, for which they are well-equipped technologically, to determine the businesses owned by such as the Koch brothers, Rupert Murdoch and any of those heavily financing our politicians directly or indirectly.. Then use their creativity to make posters, being careful about grammar,, wording and staying on point. For instance, the Koch Brothers own a paper company that makes Dixie cups, for instance. Check with local authorities to be certain they are not violating any law by having a peaceful demonstration at the location they have chosen.Start simple (the old KISS slogan: "Keep it simple, stupid") with boycotting that brand of products, politely but resolutely being outside stores that carry the product they are boycotting. When they become more seasoned, then they can step into broader forms of protest-again peaceful and respectful.

Sheik Osamah ibn Laden is a man with a huge warm heart. Not once did he differentiate between one sect and another, between, Arabs or Sunni Muslim, or Shiite Muslim. He spoke out for Iraq and Afghanistan as being one people linked with all other people to work together for the good of all people. Even though the Iraqis at the time had issue with the Afghani, it was of no consequence to Osamah, for he well understood the principle of the oneness in true unity for all of humanity. Though he had never met President Saddam Hussein, they stood shoulder to shoulder with each other in this principle and understanding of true brotherhood and sisterhood equality.
As for every man or women whom the Pentagon and White House say their forces kill, not everything is as it might seem. Sheik Osamah's second in command the Egyptian Sheik (I do not remember his name offhand), was a man whom the Pentagon and White House "killed" 3 to 4 times. Hollywood is often at their disposal. The Pentagon does this in order to "dissuade" the Afghanis from fighting against the occupation of their country and against the theft of their oil, gas and opium crop. The CIA brought that back into existence.
I do not somehow believe that as far as President Ahmadinejad is concerned that the forces of the 1% will manage to get to him all that easily. Events are coming to a head very quickly and President Ahmadinejad is arm in arm with the good King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia. The west subtly wants to make his Saudi Excellency appear as a wicked man, instead of the man he is with a most generious heart, and therein forments trouble in eastern Saudi Arabia and in Yemen in order to drag Saudi Arabia into the Revolution through the uprising of the Shiites, which unfortunatly, the Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamene of Iran is doing his best also to achieve due to the American Pentagon's misrepresentation of King Abdullah ibn Abdul Aziz.
It is interesting how the media displays the Interior and Intelligence Minister Prince Nayaf ibn Abdul Aziz as a monster and responsible for all Saudi forces inside of Bahrain when it is not he who is even in charge of the Saudi military, but Crown Prince Sultan ibn Abdul Aziz.
Whilst the Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad comfortably befriends King Abdullah ibn Abdul Aziz ibn Abdulrahman Aziz, the Pentagon leaks out through Wikileaks a chapter on how the Saudi Government wishes the U.S. to attack Iran. This could not be further from the truth. This was to bring tension between Iran and Saudi Arabia and the good relations between the two peoples and leaderships. Saudi Arabia has over three hundred bombers all pointed at Israel and not Iran. They do not like unrest on their borders but this goes even further than that.
Several years ago, gold was found in Saudi Arabia in "little mountains" and the Saudi Goverment would not allow foreign forces to excavate it and ship it off to market.The west wants this gold. This was when his Excellency Fahad was King.
If President Obama had half the backbone of Sheik Osamah ibn Laden and one sixteenth of his love for the people, the United States would be in a much better proposition to lead the world into transition of a system worthy of the people, under his, Obama's command, for he would then listen to those who know exactly what to do to bring this about for the people.
Unfortunately, President Obama and "his regime" work not only for Wall Street as run by the 1%, but it goes further than that, he works directly for Israel using the American people as their pawns for war and money. Slavery on both fronts.

When I was sixteen I had little concern about my future except for the war in Viet Nam. I had a girlfriend and a hot car I dumped gallons of gas through while cruising. Gas was 27 cents a gallon for Chevron Custom Supreme, the street racers preferred fuel. I could listen to everyone from the Stones to Hank Williams on one am radio station. A pack of Marlboros was 25 cents a pack and a quart of olympia beer was roughly about the same. All a young teenage bronkin buck needed for a good weekend. I worked summers in a cannery and winters on a farm. I had the world by the tail. Viet Nam changed everything for most of us. Our homeland became a mass of let downs and employment confusion. Most traditional occupations were replaced by computerized technology. Even accounting is the newest casualty of quick books and easy tax filing software. I feel really bad for our young people today. I don't blame them for their frustration. I have to say I would support every effort to reinvent business and social conscience. I had it really good compared to todays young person. We have reached a time where the older citizens are in debt to the new generation rather than the other way around.
True...Obama didn't start it but he continued it with all the assistance he could to those who did start it. Contrary to his original tone when he wanted to get elected...he revealed his true colors by his continued actions...which were far from being progressive...being even more right of center than some Republican presidents. Obama is not our friend. Wall Street owns Obama!

Did not leave us with a global crash / depression / TARP scam on taxpayers . Obama DID get that dumped in his lap in Jan 2009. I watched Ahmadinejad speak at the UN and agreed with most everything he said. And then the network cut him off. Not surprising in a fascist corporate/state controlled press. I wonder how much longer it will be before the US assassinates Ahmadinejad too? I wonder how much longer it will be before the US starts sending in their unmanned drones into Iran to murder even more innocent civilians in that country?

A good start would be for the Wall Street Occupiers to state a goal of theirs is to have the bailout monies returned to the gov't for use on infrastructure needs. If this was made as a clear mandate of this effort and openly endorsed by Pres Obama and Dem's, in the form of a bill sent to Congress, it would start a strategy of focus that has been murky to this pt.

Iraq did not deserve what it got from the American guns and bombs, many NATO members were also there adding their wickedness against the people. Dissidents across the borders in western countries were already counting Iraq's wealth into their own bank accounts, and yet had absolutely no leadership qualities among them, no idea of how to build a paradise for the people, and exibited absolutely no love for the people, themselves.
The White House was told by Arab Leaders that to oust the (demonized) President Saddam Hussein would be fatal for Iraq and would result in chaos for decades to come.
The White House did not listen.
President Saddam Hussein was not as hated by his people as many would have you believe. Had he been, he certainly would not have stashed firearms and told his people where they all were in order for the ordinary citizen to protect him or herself from the invaders and occupiers.
Iraq did not deserve what it got. President Herbert Bush Sr. ordered the oil wells of Kuwait to be set on fire, and this later was confirmed by the very fed-up-with-White-House-lies America Veterans.
