Thom it's not what "WILL" happen to our schools, it's what's already happened and what are we going to do about it? Our schools have been floundering for decades, because of a myriad of reasons, and both Republican and Democratic administrations have to take the blame for it. Conservative politicians have had an agenda to keep the populace uneducated or undereducated because they feel it's easier to control the masses when they are ignorant. Liberal politicians, while they talk a good talk about revamping our educational system, never seem to be able or have the will to fight hard enough to stand up against the conservatives. So, little by little the educational system has been eroding away by monetary cut after monetary cut, poor management, misplaced programs such as "No Child Left Behind" which have actually left millions behind while costing billions, and now the next step towards privitization. I think it's all been part of a master plan, developed over decades, by the ultra-conservatives, or rather the Oligarchs of this country to take over. When we lose our ability to educate our population, not just the fortunate few who can afford to pay, we lose ourselves, our freedom. We WILL become slaves to our masters once again. What will happen to education? I think it's going to get a lot worse before it gets better, and we progressives better start working together to try to figure out how to make it better before it's too late.

This mystery is finally solved. The United States of Mortal Sin is the Anti-Christ!

The United States of Mortal Sin is home to the Anti-Christ. The United States of Mortal Sin and the Anti-Christ are synonymous.

With each passing day my energy diminishes and I tire more easily. I will go to my grave firm in the belief that the United States of Mortal Sin and the Anti-Christ are synonymous.

On Social Security and early retirement.

If you chose (or like me are forced) to retire early and start collecting benefits before your full retirement age, you will of course receive a reduced benefit. If you later decide to return to work, even at a lower salary than you once earned, your Social Security benefit will be reduced. However, there is an upside to that. When you retire for real, your benefit will be increased over what it would have been had you not returned to work. In addition if you keep working beyond your full retirement age, you can also increase your monthly benefit above the full retirement amount. At some point you can continue working and earning without your benefit being reduced.

So there are already incentives to continue working longer in the current system should you chose to and you are able to do so.

The problem with simply increasing the retirement age of course is it assumes that everyone works equally hard (or has it equally easy) during their careers and that everyone is equally fit at an older age. It may be true that a 70 year old office worker may be able to keep working, but a 70 your old laborer would be pretty useless in most cases.

Even if a person was willing to work that long it would be hard to find an employer to hire them. Perhaps if they want to increase the retirement age for everyone they should first put in place a program that would employ older workers to perform tasks they are capable of doing.

This morning (April 25, 2011) I had a chance to watch the History Channel. The program featured the Rise of the Third Reich in Nazi Germany. As I watched, I saw a parallel between the Rise of the Third Reich and the Rise of the Fourth Reich in Nazi America. It was truly a frightening similarity between our evil nation and Nazi Germany.

I was watching “Good Bye, My Fancy” with Joan Crawford and Robert Young. Joan said that if you want to destroy freedom you put a blanket over education. We need to take a good look at what the fascist-Nazis are doing to education from our fascist-Nazi governors to the Texas publishing companies. Keeping Americans ignorant and stupid is an ongoing process for the fascist-Nazis.

    The Billionaires’ Tea Party

I was watching a video by astro-turf wars. The Tea Baggers are pawns to billionaires; they follow the rich and their policies; they claim the government is the enemy; and they are working against their best interests. WE NEED MORE GOVERNMENT AND NOT LESS GOVERNMENT. BIG GOVERNMENT IS NOT THE ENEMY. Transnational corporations and the rich are the enemy and they seek to control American citizens. They lust for more and more profits at the expense of the poor and working classes. Beck is the darling among Tea Baggers. More and more Americans want transnational corporations and the rich controlling our lives. THE TEA BAGGER PARTY IS THE TRUE AMEICAN NAZI PARTY. Tea Baggers are for predatory capitalism. They are working to shut down government. The Tea Baggers are the stooges and the tools for the American elitists. Plutocracy reigns in fascist-Nazi America. Tea Baggers are benefitting corporations and the rich and not average American citizens. Tea Baggers are not free; they are slaves to corporate interests and money. I PREFER GOVERNMENT CONTROLLING MY LIFE AND NOT HAVING CORPORATIONS CONTROLLING MY LIFE BECAUSE I AM A SOCIALIST.

President Obama speaks on Bradley Manning and the rule of law

"We're a nation of laws. We don't let individuals make their own decisions about how the laws operate. He broke the law." - President Obama

Tom Blumer is confusing life expectancy at birth (the phrase he used) with life expectancy at 2 years of age. Most of the extension of life expectancy at birth is due to a reduction of infant mortality. Plenty of people even in the middle ages got to 65 years old. And think of what ages the first several U.S. Presidents got to--Washington died at 67, Adams at 90, Jefferson at 83, Madison at 85.

Re; Who's screwed? Another example of Capitalism (profit) being put first. It's an addiction; these people are sick!SUNDAY, APRIL 24, 2011Radiation Expert: "Sr-90 and Uranium and Particulates Will Be Building Up in the USA and Europe ... For Now I Think It Prudent To Stop Drinking Milk"

Preface: I take very seriously any warning about consuming a product which is important for the local economy. But when a respected radiation expert issues this type of warning, I have to pass it on.

I wrote to radiation expert Dr. Chris Busby to ask him if he thought people living outside of Japan should take any actions to try to reduce their radiation exposure:

Epidemiologist Dr. Wing thinks people outside of Japan shouldn't do anything to attempt to reduce radiation exposure: Leading Epidemiologist: Instead of Trying to Avoid Japanese Radiation, Put Your Energy Into Demanding a Saner Energy Policy

But the French anti-nuclear NGO CRIIAD says that pregnant women and infants should take steps to reduce exposure: French Nuclear Group Warns that Children and Pregnant Mothers Should Protect Themselves from RadiationI've also researched the scientific literature, and found that antioxidants can help a little: Can Vitamins or Herbs Help Protect Us from Radiation? What's your advice for people outside of Japan?

    Professor Busby replied:

I attach my "don't panic" paper. However, since then I have re-thought this advice as the thing is still fissioning and releasing 10 to the fourteen becquerels a day. This will mean that Sr-90 [strontium 90] and Uranium and particulates will be building up in the USA and Europe. I will assess this later but for now I think it prudent to stop drinking milk. I also attach the particulates note.http://georgewashington2.blogspot.com/

  • US Business' have fired 2.9 million workers since 2001 – then hired more than 2.4 million workers overseas. Will this change?   14 years 23 weeks ago

It has to change - they will run out of portable jobs eventually :-)

  • America’s so-called “job creators” have fired 2.9 million workers since 2001 – then hired more than 2.4 million workers overseas   14 years 23 weeks ago

Tragic is one way to describe this. I go an extra mile to buy goods as much as possible that are manufactured in the United States. Some you can buy and some you can't. These CEO's that have outsourced jobs to cheaper parts of the world really could care less about poor or middle class people losing their jobs here. It is up to us to keep up the fight and support goods made here.

  • Will Republicans kick President Obama off the ballot in several states?   14 years 23 weeks ago

""I couldn't find the question about the birth certificate, either. I DO have my original birth certificate. However, Social Security would not accept it, because it was not certified by the state. Had to get a "Certificate of Live Birth" from the state of Washington.""

Different documents for different things. When a state "registers" a birth it is entered into all kinds of books and records and yes, a list is sent to local newspapers...like a public announcement of divorce. Yet since the proof needed is not for citizenship nor for naturalization proof of citizenship but in fact "natural born citizenship" this is something states are deciding how best to vet for the same documents that can prove citizenship reflect place of mother's residence ...and not where the child was born. ...and a natural born citizen must be born "of the soil". of America...but also the part Obama does not qualify is the definition that stands as unamended in 1787 "a soil born child of citizen parents"...that's both parents...Moreover, Vattel's Law of Nations also says "the land of the fathers is the land of the child"...and for Obama that would be Kenya.

  • Will Republicans kick President Obama off the ballot in several states?   14 years 23 weeks ago

Sorry...but the DNC is counting on your ignorance and the leftist leaning loonies in the MSM to push these totally irrelevant documents as proof ....they are in fact, if authentic, proof of citizenship (not the proof of the required "Natural Born Citizen" status) as the office of Vital Statistics does produce the COLB AND also sends a list to newspapers of all births REGISTERED in a state and the address of the COLB and the birth announcements only reflect the mother of the child's permanent address as REPORTED .. Neither are proofs of being a natural born citizen and does not reflect where a child was born unless it is documentation from a hospital. So in other words Obama's mother could have telegramed from Kenya birth data to the grandmother and the grandmother went down to fill out the registration forms. This is why only scraps of paper were found where the long form birth certificate should be found. You have come to the party a little late to pull this one over on those who read and saw articles written in foreign countries declaring with such pride that Obama was born in Kenya. The first birther was in fact a black man, Alan Keyes, and a law suit was brought by him with Phllip Berg (A Hillary supporter) as his attorney. It may be a anti-Obama debate but there exists absolutely no racist comment ever in birther arguments. As for me with a grandmother listed as mulatto I doubt I would pass a 5% rule. Besides I am a strong supporter of Allen West for POTUS....now that is what I call an All American black and blue blood.

  • Will Republicans kick President Obama off the ballot in several states?   14 years 23 weeks ago

Please read the Constitution Article II Section I and then please tell me where in the 14th Amendment or any amendment or redefinition does it name this Article and Section number in the Amendment...Where is is Redefined to mean anything other than what it meant in 1787??? Anyone?? Anyone?? Sorry but the DNC are counting on your race baiting and ignorance of the Constitution to defend Obama against the Truth starring straight at you! You have willingly been bamboozled by the Great Bamboozler!

  • Will Republicans kick President Obama off the ballot in several states?   14 years 23 weeks ago

Yes, it may in fact be discriminatory against adoptees but Gerald Ford was adopted without question. In 2004 Bill S.2128 was proposed to allow citizen parents who adopt a foreign child at birth to be able to grant them the hope of one day becoming President so the Bill's purpose was to REDEFINE AND AMEND the term "Natural Born Citizen" as it applies to the qualification of the POTUS in ARTICLE II, SECTION I of the Constitution. A Committee was set up to study what if anything could be done to amend this old law. The Bill never passed. Therefore, the term Natural Born Citizen as it applies to the President of the United States has the same specifications and definition as it had in 1787 when a married woman derived her citizenship from the husband only regardless of where she was born or lived ...she could not stand alone and moreover, Vattel's Law of Nations describes "the land of the father is the land of the child". Woman at that time could not even vote. No did any woman have a right to take away a child's inherited rights under the law of the land in which the husband could bestow upon a child. It was already argued on the floor of Congress in 2004 by none other than Barbara Boxer that all laws on citizenship are moot and or conflicting and sets precedence all over the place but none so name this Article and Section number to Amend the term Natural Born Citizen when it comes to the qualification of the POTUS.

The term Natural Born Citizen as it is meant to be defined in 1787 has never been amended or redefined...therefore, when it says citizen parents...that's both parents...Obama's father is the only father of a President in history that was not an American citizen nor ever intended to be one. (that is not including those exempt at the time of the signing of the Constitution). Obama knew his father makes him ineligible, the DNC knew he did not meet this qualification yet they counted on the ignorance of everyone and uses race baiting to challenge anyone smart enough to know this. More importantly, if you look at the INTENT of the law and all the letters to and from the founding fathers on this subject you would know that the founders of the Constitution intended never to have someone of such foreign influence and conflicting allegiance as Obama sitting in the highest office of the land.

It is not a racial issue but a Constitutional issue. For most birthers this may be an anti-Obama thing but not a racial thing because they would vote for Herman Cain or Allen West in a heart beat if either of them became the Presidential GOP candidate.
