Thom, on your show you complained about the Banksters using the taxpayer funded bail-out money to pay for the Republican primaries. Don't you understand that this is just the Republican's method for publicly funded elections? lol
I heard Thom talk about the California Single Payer Health bill SB810 last night and he named names of the four Democrats that voted "no" on the bill. I hope these 4 Democrats get tarred and feathered by their constituents and run out of town on a rail (figuratively speaking, of course...I don't advocate real violence..although that doesn't seem to be a problem for our government when they do it to others..even torture..even to it's own citizens).
These 4 scum bags don't seem to care that hundreds or thousands of Californians may lose their lives because of their stupid votes.
I have done a few quick searches on the internet...and have found that although there are many articles about the bill not passing....none of them mention the 4 Democrats by name....hmmm...I wonder why that is?
@ Ms. Smith, your youngun is smart and funny en deux langues, no less.
Now as to Mr. Napoleon Complex Norquist, can he be serious? Probably. After all, he had a significant role in making the Republican Party the dominant force in American politics for a generation and counting, and he's held not just his party but the entire federal government hostage to his no-taxes-for-the-rich dogma for 25 years. And from what I've read, he was quite full of himself even before all that.
Whether this scheme is plausible is another matter. I was heartened to see all the scorn flung his way in the comments on National Journal yesterday. Impeach the President? For letting tax cuts for the rich expire? Surely people in the civilized world see that and think, "That's insane."
But then again, the perpetual adoration of Ronald Reagan, who among other feats kickstarted the destruction of the middle class, is insane. Letting Bush II be a two-term president was insane. Handing the House back to the GOP in 2010, along with most of our state governments, was insane. Trusting our votes to electronic black boxes owned and operated by private corporations is insane. The whole So-Called War On Drugs, the mass incarceration and marginalization of (mostly black and brown) Americans, and our silent assent to the de facto repeal of the Fourth Amendment, are all insane. So who knows?
Stephen King, in Pet Sematary--in an entirely different context, of course--wrote (I paraphrase) that we are mistaken to believe there is any horror beyond which the mind cannot plunge into horrors yet deeper. I often think of that when I contemplate American politics today.
DR: Excellent article! And great video. Article has quotes from Elizabeth Warren, Simon Johnson, Bill Moyers, Chris Hedges, Joseph Stiglitz and others....
'Nobel Prize-winning economist, former Chief Economist at the World Bank, Chair of the Council of Economic Advisors, and Columbia economics professor, Joseph Stiglitz, agrees the US economy continues under oligarchic domination:
“What the Obama administration is doing is…ersatz capitalism, the privatizing of gains and the socializing of losses. It is a “partnership” in which one partner robs the other. And such partnerships — with the private sector in control — have perverse incentives, worse even than the ones that got us into the mess.” '
Here's another video that you might be interested in....I got this link from the article you posted.

This video has various politicians making statements that just explodes with their hypocrisy, double-speak, and criminality.
Obama is a war criminal that should not be re-elected. Don't vote for a war criminal!!!
What if Hitler had not committed suicide and said "War crimes? Torture? Prosecute the guilty? Let's just put that all behind us and just move along...concentrate on our future!" This is basically what happened with many war criminals both from Nazi Germany and Japan. The US took them in and helped them because they were able to help us in our goals of becoming the strongest and most aggressive power in the world. And, this is basically what Obama, and his administration, has said....let's just move along and concentrate on the future. Instead of going after the criminal deeds of those that preceded him he actually appointed some of THEM and meekly backed down from the bravado talk he gave in his campaign speeches.
Obama, after winning the first election, changed his tune and became the very corrupt war criminal that Bush had been. Obama is only just now trying to make us believe that he wants to change the system and reign in the excesses of the wealthy....but he's lying to you. He has no such intention. He is one of THEM.
On the Contrary! --- such nuanced conversations make great Radio! Call John back and continue that conversation or enter into a new subject zone.
There is Much Discussion Needed to Foment A Renaissance. To Defeat the Dream Killers is not enough. We must simultaneously bridge to the new world of Cooperative Creativity. You have a foot in both worlds.
You can be that bridge and help redirect this conversation (as the road begins to turn) and we begin to win. We will Win -- if winning means that we will evolve politically/spiritually/mentally/emotionally/socially -- we will win. If we will not, then we have nothing to lose by believing that we will (thereby Keeping the Dream Alive as a seed). If we will win, then that win can only be strengthened and eased (whether using a sports analogy, or a referring to cosmic mechanical fact) by Believing In, and Preparing For, that Victory ----- which will Transformation the Ways by which we interact as individuals, as tribes, as nations, as federations of nations and as a species with other species.
So the majority of people, the 99.9%, are being led through the nose by the .1% by advertizing. The .1%, and extending downwards a bit to those wannabe top .1 percenters, can afford it because they have all the money. Are there really that many dummies in America that believe all of that political advertizing hype? Well I guess if so many people are easy to beguile with other non-sense and superstition they are easy prey for advertizing. Maybe they all deserve what they get for being so gullible. Maybe we should all go back to hacking each other with swords in the Emperor's army.
But, of course, the real deception is that it's all theater to get us to believe we have some say in our government. If you vote for a Republican, then you get OVERT actions against you...unless you are wealthy then it is in your favor (until the citizens sharpen their guillotines). If you vote Democrat, then you get COVERT actions against you (unless you are wealthy, then you already know that you are using a corrupt political system that you created to fool the people into a false hope that buys them time to ratchet those snake teeth once again..and we are eaten up by the ravenous serpents).
The wealthy know that the best and most effective way to make the people your slaves is to imprison their minds with psychological dogma and propaganda. Get them to focus away from the root causes.
Voting for the same old fool that we did the first time will not help us at all. Obama is either too incompetent to stand up to the wealthy class...or he is their useful idiot and he has been part of the game of deception all along. We need a change...a real change this time....neither Republican nor Democrat...we need to shake up the system or we will be forever playing this silly game where the people (the 99%) continue to lose.

Okay, here are more unrealistic points, not restraining myself, nor my imagination:
I hate all cars, they kill people, animals and even children
I hate oversized flat screens and loud speakers, any kind of amplified live music, violent media, illuminated advertising
I want to change the internet to pure text, so we need e-book screens only. Furthermore downsize all audio devices to low volume/sound level. Restrict all live bands to banjo instead of electric guitars.
I am indeed fighting the textless stupidity of those who only look for images on my blog. You see them on blogspot stats. So I deleted the images of my musical instruments and loaded them up again politicized with paroles.
Let's downsize myself to the realistic point of public education. This is the key to solve almost all thoses problems as I feel. It won't get better at once, for it needs time.
I won't ever give up on the rednecks. Some of them would love to be educated. But above all we have to educate their kids. It takes time, we can't change everything at once -- things must grow.
Quote palindromedary:..it's all smoke and mirrors...manipulation of the masses. The Trojan Horse wants you to believe he is on your side...but he is owned by the ruling elite and will continue to do their bidding.
Okay, lets assume it's all smoke and theater. And maybe I am smoke and theater and the government is faking me to confuse you. Or to see it from my perspective: Maybe you are payed by Mitt Romney, to confuse me and all the voters? Maybe Thom is smoke and theater too -- just to confuse us. Stephanie Miller isn't really lesbian -- it's smoke. I've never been to Plattsburgh and maybe it's not existing, although heard it's fairly pretty. Florida is probably media smoke -- never been there. Why should I believe in Australia? Kangaroos are smoky theater. Obama entertains us with those hopping and boxing creatures, in order to deflect our thoughts! Ahhhhh, maybe I should kick politics and just make music. It's anyway smoke. Why think anyway? Why not dim my brain with drugs and make all the smoke go away? If I think ahead like this, I'll probably become suicidal.....
Sound humans have a sense for fake. You can't easily fool them by putting something on You can't be dishonest without looking and sounding dishonest. You might fool single individuals, but not a majority of sound persons. If you don't have that sense, you certainly can't trust anybody or anything.

Impeaching the President of the United States has to be for a much bigger reason than allowing tax cuts expire when to deposit but then who knows what his real intentions are.
