Morris is a toe-sucking tool. There's no good reason to pay any attention to anything he says about any subject.

This reminds me of what Jim Cramer said on Morning Joke yesterday - asked specifically about the current unrest in Egypt, he said, "All I'm thinking about is the Suez Canal and the stoppage of oil...". Really? Really Jim? Tens of thousands of ordinary citizens take to the streets to put their own bodies and lives on the line for their freedom, and that's all that's on your mind? You make it easy to understand why Jon Stewart apparently thinks you're a #$%^%&!

Edit (1:07 pm EST): forgot to add the link for the Cramer quip, in case anyone's stomach is strong enough:

My first time on this blog (& using a DroidX) Let me know if I'm not using it correctly. My #1 choice: Johnny I hardly knew you. I hasten to add that I do believe that there are times when the only acceptable choice is to fight. It is the American rush to war as a first choice, That is sick.

    And another thing...

With the arguable exception of President Obama and a handful of other Democrats - NOBODY in public life right now is truly a "conservative" by any rational definition of that word. Let's stop playing along with the right-wing's rhetorical games... they're NOT conservatives - they're right-wing RADICALS and I say we should use that terminology almost exclusively, other than in the exceedingly rare instances in which a specific exception would be genuinely warranted!

"Conservative" sounds too safe - the everyday sheeple/low-information voters in our country should be rhetorically reminded at every opportunity of the threat to our nation that these radicals represent!

So Dick Morris was on Faux News complaining about President Obama's stance on Egypt. Basically what he was clearly saying is that we should stand behind Mubarak, totally at odds with what the people in Egypt want. Why does he want us to step in? It’s very simple, money. He does not care about the people of Egypt; he only is concerned that rich Americans might get their property/business's seized. This is very typical of our foreign policy and conservatives. We love dictators, the more ruthless the better because ultimately we can control business interests and resources. We don't care about spreading Democracy, never have. We only care about protecting business interests overseas. Obama is in a very tough spot here and I think he is right to stand back and let the Egyptians decide for themselves what they want, just as they did in Tunisia. I find it odd that conservatives always want government out of their life but when it comes to us sticking our nose in sovereign nations business, they are all for it.

Hard to pick a favorite. Right off the top of my head, a few I've always particularly enjoyed, in no particular order:

"Feel Like I'm Fixin' to Die Rag" (uncensored version, of course!) by Country Joe & the Fish
"With God on Our Side" by Bob Dylan
"Find the Cost of Freedom" by Crosby, Stills, Nash &/or Young
"Throwing Stones" by the Grateful Dead

Thom, what is the name of this square in Egypt you keep mentioning? Is it "Tarir", "Tadeusz"? I can't understand you, because you're using non-English phonemes. Please, feel free to anglicize the pronunciation.

    Hey Dnarnadem,

You haven't responded to a single criticism with any kind of facts and all you apparently know how to do is call names and race bait. That's quite a talent. I haven't trashed Obama. Everything I have said is verifiable. By your logic then, he has trashed himself. I have pointed out that his actions rarely match his words and that he is politically tone deaf. He in fact has trashed his own base! Unlike you, I have provided and documented everything I say.

What conspiracies are you refering to anyway that make you think the "plutocrats" forced everything Obama has done so far? Did you ever stop to think that maybe he's joined them? Is this more of your anti-intellectual raging? Is he is own man? If he isn't then he's not the leader you claim he is!

Let's go down his list of hires shall we? I think you'll notice some disturbing similarities among the key staff he has appointed:

Larry Summers - Hired by Obama as Director of White House National Economic Council. Freidmanite Wall Streeter and former President of Harvard who fired Cornell West (Larry Summers is not fit to tie Dr. West's shoes!) and tried to destroy the Black Studies program at Harvard and then in the rest of the Ivy League. Fired from Harvard for conflict of interest and disparaging racist and sexist commentary. Key player in starting the financial crisis with a direct line to Goldman Sachs.

Robert Gates - "W's" Secretary of Defense. CIA, NSC; On many corporate boards.

Ben Bernacke - "W's" Fed. Chair, "failed to forsee the financial crisis." Still handing out zero percent interest loans at the Fed. "window" to the "banksters" in the trillions of dollars who refuse to loan to small business despite Obama rhetoric.

Ken Salazar - Secretary of Interior - Offshore drilling enthusiast who failed to follow the National Environmental Policy Act thus urshering in the largest ocean oil blowout in American history. Failed to secure Obama's promised BP twenty billion dollar relief fund, despite Obama's ironclad guarantee to the American people (would you care to see the playback?) that he "negotiated" (there he goes again!) such fund. A fund of anywhere near such size does not exist! I specifically remember saying and writing at the time that that was never going to happen. It didn't! Has contiued the same skirting of environmental law on three projects that are as dangerous. if not more so, than the Macondo project, currently underway...

Timothy Geithner - Appointed by Obama as Secretary of the Treasury: Kissenger Associates; US Treasury; Council on Foreign Relations; International Monetary Fund; Chairman of New York Fed. Reserve Bank; Failed to forsee financial crisis; Collapse of Lehman Brothers; Tanking of Citigroup on his watch right beneath him... Associate of Larry Summers ...

Bill Daley - Obama's fresh new same ol' same ol' Chief of Staff, Chairman, JP Morgan... personal friend from Chicago.. Oh, I forgot... You said, THEY MADE HIM DO IT?

BTW, don't go into the racial stereo-typing business, you'll starve...

Need I continue... No. Do your own homework. If you don't like reading I suggest you go see "Inside Job." It's a great documentary, up for many Academy Awards...

I never like being told that I have to buy any kind of insurance. I think the Insurance companies, which are who the care bill forces us to purchase insurance from, need to go sell their products in the countries where they purchase real estate with profits from the present American policy holders. The private Insurance companies have been spending our premium dollars over seas in the Pacific Rim for decades wile denying payment to their customers especially when whole towns have been wiped out by natural disasters. They claim that they don't have the funds to pay off homeowner claims. They deny coverage and charge outrageous premimun for health insurance coverage and then refuse to pay out causing people much hardship. I say let them sell off their real estate holdings, pay everyone that they have cheated in the past and then see if anyone wants to buy their insurance products. Why should our government force us to do business with any companies? That's not democratic governance. Mandatory is not for me. However I have always been for single payer health care. Single payer plans have been working well in other countries and can work here too. Anyone who wants something more or better than a single payer plan can always buy supplemental insurance ( from private insurance companies ) or pay for their own care above the common plan.

Corporations seem to think that their profits are delivered via the stork. They seem to be hell-bent on persecuting the very people/human beings that provide this profit: the consumer. the taxpayer, and the worker. (And destroying the planet, where are we expected to live?) Unless they have some magician that comes in with a magic wand to create their product and they expect the wealthy 1%, no let's be generous 2%, to purchase all that product, I don't know how they think they can continue to make money and stay in business. After all, what does business have without product and consumer?

What's wrong with the Henry Ford model? Pay workers living wages (that allows for disposable income) and make good products they can afford to purchase. Everyone is happy. Henry Ford was still plenty rich--his heirs are still plenty rich.

Does anyone notice that all the news stories about rising prices include the phrase, "due to rising labor costs in China"? Labor was taken to China in the name of cheap labor and keeping costs down, but costs to consumers did not fall; they stayed the same. Now that these costs are going up, outrageous profits are being cut into by those pesky labor costs and consumers will be expected to take the hit. I knew the Chinese would eventually smart up.Where are corporations off to now Africa?

We need a global human being movement to curb the control and destruction of the planet by corporations. We need to take the influence of money out of our elections. I know I sound like a broken record on this blog, but I feel that this is the ONLY way we can stop the complete corporatization of the US and global economy.

They sold it door to door as a home security system. Media advertised it in talk and in print. Repugnants bought into it and mandated that we had to buy Iraq. Repugnants mandated that we had to buy Afghanistan.

Issa is attempting to reduce the Federal protections that protect the Citizens from corporate wrongdoings. How about Citizens request that government stop providing judicial protections of corporate contracts altogether? Instead government should only do business with Citizens who have flesh and blood bodies. I just dont think our government should do business with any entity that hides who it is.

If Issa wants the names of people requesting information via the FOIA. he can request that information via the FOIA.
