    crease,

Re: Tit for tat on the facts.I just called my two Senators offices and niether are having town hall meetings on this recess they are Carl Levin and Debbie Stabenow……….

Would they react if you could call back (and get others to call) to demand (in a nice way, of course) town hall meetings, or at least a personal meeting with each senator?

    What a maroon!

(Meaning the last caller who is on a state health care program but says others don't need it!)

The health programs available are completely inefficient - wait til that guys or his kids get sick and he has to use the program -

    B Roll,

LOL! It's not my lack of avid attention to your posts; it's my lack of short-term memory! (My husband says the same thing!)

    Quark,

Yes. I first saw Rasta posing here as Weldon, then he became Tim and has lasted as Rasta for the longest time. I've mentioned that before here. I guess you're not hanging on my every word.

Jesse "The Body" has a mouth. He ran for office because he had a list of personal pet grievances (like a high license plate tax for his SUVs) that he wanted to address.

I wondered why we hadn't seen a batsh-t crazy post from Rasta in here today - he's been on hold! :D

    Is WELDON really RASTA?

Thom, I would rather pay higher taxes for single payer because my $200 a month in premiums with it`s $4500 in deductibles I will get more affordable health care and most likely better preventative care to.My current program leaves me no choice but to drop it at the end of the year.In January I will be enrolled or not in United Heath care as Delta airlines has merged with Northwest airlines.I will refuse it if at all possibile because I don`t want to subsidize Mr.McGuire`s pay check.I am 50 years old and I have seen the cost of health care shifted to me and other in the Blue collar community which is about what 98 percent of us.Please promote the movie Sicko and the Bill Moyers interview with Mr.Potter.

We REALLY, REALLY need a cleariinghouse for an organized activist effort to combat the corporate "thundering herds." Any suggestions, anyone?

You know everyone, I made business cards once with instructions on how to listen to progressive radio. People were extremely happy to get them. You just keep them with your regular business cards. I will make up some more but you can do this by going to microsoft.com and get a template and design your own. We really need to push progressive radio - our cave man quotient in this country has gotten too scary.

We now have people funded by the health insurance companies to show up and disrupt town hall meetings. I think we should come up with a good label for these people. I would suggest "Death Merchants".

Remember Ira Magaziner, the developer of the Clinton health care reform proposal? I always wondered why the single-payer option was never considered or even discussed. I looked up his bio. The CORPORATIONS were well-served, even then:

DRichards , What strikes me most is how these zealots use and devalue religion especially the Christian Reich wing nuts for all of their HYPOCRISY and LIES.I always looked a Jesus as a socialist myself because he was all about love and peace and performed socialized medicine by healing the blind and lame and others, or am i crazy because I am not a huge believer in religion.

I like Joseph Campbell's definition of religion. Religion is when you take the myth as being literal. It gets very dangerous when you force the myth on others, and a crime when you force the helpless (children) to abide by your myth and to suffer the consequences.

I am going to compare apples to oranges here to prove my point,We will spend $550 billion on defense ths year as oposed to $2.4 trillion for health care.We will lose 18,000 percious American civilians because of health care issues compared to 4,500 dearly loved soldiers in the last 8 years of war.The re-pukes have their Sheeple shill for the corporations because what is said to them is the gospel. From my understanding and investigation in health care and I have found out that hedge funds are fueling health care profits by what is called Medical loss ratio which means if they insurer is spending to much on care it`s not making enough profit. Please watch sicko and the Bill Moyers interview with Wedell Potter.

mstag-- how about the joke in which G-d sends the raft, the row boat, and the tug boat to the people who say- oh that's okay G-d said he will save us- and then they die, go to heaven and ask G-d, "Why did you let us die" and G-d says "You fools, I sent you a raft, a row boat, and a tug boat.! "

    mstaggerlee ,
Re: G-d helps those who help themselves.

Yeah, but since it's not in the Bible, they dismiss it.
