Not only would they be awful to see, but they would only incite more hatred for our country!
I and 'many' people I know absolutely believe that Bin Laden IS dead and gone --just like we also believe that GWB brought us all this mess and a totally wrong war that killed so many of our troops and innocent people. There is no need for pictures to prove it, nor to reive up any question to the contrary.
Why do you feel the need to rig the question by inserting Sarah Palin into the answer choices? Seems insecure. There are many of us on the left who believe the photos should be released for entirely different reasons than those stated by Palin and the GOP.
Odd that I have a different opinion (usuially I am right in with all the liberalsl this time I agree with palin.. UUUUGGGHHHH).. So I am moving this topic to the regular message board..
I feel having the real pictures would make it a done deal.. Now there will be all the fake photos out there.. I do not feel it a trophy.. Its what happened..
I totally agree with the President Obama and I think that showing the photos would incite even more rage and hatred! Since the death news, I have been in GREAT fear for our soldiers in the Middle East! My 45 year old son is with the Vermont National Guard, and after coming home last November from deployment in Afghanistan, he returned and is currently working as a contractor at Bagram Air Field, Afghanistan. For those that want to see this sort of thing, then they should go join the combat fighting units of our military and see it first hand! It is all to easy for someone to demand something . . . when they have NO STAKE in the war! Americans really need to Support the Troops and not just with bumper stickers on their cars!
I agree with President Oboma. It would be all over the internet to the World, enhancing hatred and further inflaming negative reactions and retaliation! We got enough problems as is with a bad economy, high unemployment, high gas prices, etc. The concern though are the TV News programs constantly talking about bin Laden's possible next attacks, on a train system; Laden's viewing some mirror, or taking pictures of himself; or bin Laden's changing color of his hair or beard, etc.
I do not believe that the consequences of releasing these photos would be all negative, as some believe. However, in this case, I think the negatives would FAR outweigh the positives. This is a different situation, and in many ways a different country, than when the Bush administration paraded the death photos of Siddam's sons.
