The DNC is so desprate to beat Trump yet they contrive to screw Bernie out of the nomination when it is clear that he is the ONLY person who can actually get the job, of beating Trump, done! Then they turn around and expect Bernie supporters to fall in line and throw their support to Hillary. Really!?! Unbelievable.

Seeing the current polls I'm truly frightened that a Trump presidency is a very real possibility. The Dems in their blind lust to get Hillary elected they might have just dammed this country to decades and perhaps centuries of misery oppression ever growing poverty and perhaps even war given the emotional instability and immaturity of Trump.

As much as I wanted Bernie as President,I did vote for him,we must hold our nose and vote for Hillary. I didn't like the Tim Kaine appointment either as I would have rather had Elizabeth warren as veep candidate, but that being said,we can't let Donald Trump be elected. We are still cleaning up from the Bush/Cheney disaster. Can anyone imagine the destruction this complete egotistical, lying asshole would reign on us and the world? I'd rather not.

Mr. Hartmann, You are much smarter and more experienced in politics than myself, who am I to question you, but I do have a question. How can you state in hour one that you would gladly donate to a campaign that talks the ISSUES not personalities. Then in hour three you quote an attack on JILL STEIN and her VP stating she is only doing this so she can run in 2018, she is a "healthcare professional" (no mention she is a retired MD, who understands single payer healthcare) with no experience, she hasnt been elected, VP attacked Bernie etc.? Nothing about why you disagree with progressive Green ISSUES/platform. It seems a little hypocritical to me? You and many other underestimate the problem. True Bernie Progressives will NEVER vote for Hillary because she will not promote or push a progressive platform or ISSUES. WE know she will say anything to get elected for her Wall St and Corporate friends and FAMILY. Haven't you watched Clinton Cash? Are you serious that you think its only a coincidence a 27 year old (NOT 37 year old as you stated) staffer was gunned down and not robbed just before testifying? Come' On Man! You cannot be that naive.

We want impact and change. To vote FOR something. I'd vote Libertarian who believe in personal freedom, internet freedom, immigration reform, decriminalize drugs and promote treatment, before I would vote for Hillary. You can be in denial all you want but I meet many others that feel the same way. Bernie should have run third party, he would have won easily!

Vote FOR something and someone, we would welcome your vote for The Green Party. Don't be fooled into thinking its a vote for Trump.

Hi,

So Thom keeps on talking about how Jill Stein is a vanity candidate which is totally wrong and ironic because he keeps saying hes progressive. So the argument is that a vote for Jill is a vote for Trump. First of all that argument is wrong and is using fear as a tactic to vote for Clinton. Trump uses fear and progressives shouldn't. So Clinton should earn our vote especially progressives not by the use a fear! By saying we should elect Clinton and hold her feet to the fire is nonsense. Same thing with Obama because the only way we can keep elected people accountable is by voting! For example Obama said he was against TPP but now hes all for it same as Clinton will be for it! So when that nonsense is said its basically saying for example if a person has two hostages. The person says they want a flight and a thousand dollars before he lets the hostages go. But then says ok I will let them go but after you have to give me my demands. The leverage is lost and I'm pretty sure there not going to get the demands!!! Don't vote for the lesser of two evils but vote your heart plus what the candidate really believes in!!! Plus if we get enough people to vote for Jill then we can elect her just like when everybody thought Bernie was pie in the sky/fringe candidate!!!

Thanks. Andrew (Bernie supporter and now Jill supporter)

1) Donald Trump is either clinically insane or a manipulative want-a-be dictator or perhaps both.

2) Any vote for anyone other than Hillary in a contested state is a wasted vote that increases the chances that Trump could win. At the very least, such "political purity" feel-good votes are likely to also take away critical support for down ballot progressive candidates.

3) Many people will suffer and some will die unnecessarily if Trump is elected. The fact you may personally not be at risk, doesn't relieve you from the moral obligation to keep this orange haired real life monster out of the White House.

We're told we have to vote for a ruthless warmonger or else get a bigoted fool. Wonder what the turnout will be.

Yes, that was pretty nasty of Thom. Despite HRC's catastrophic foreign policy decisions and wheeling and dealing, it's Stein that he chooses to smear. Disappointing.

What Do Democrats Really Want?

Thom plus logo Thomas Friedman, the confused billionaire, told us decades ago that "free trade" is what made the Lexus a successful product when, in fact, it was decades of Japanese government subsidies and explicit tariffs that did so.
