On the other hand a President Paul would probably find majorities easily for cutting social welfare on the poor and raising taxes on the middle class. This wouldn't be revolution at all, for this isn't new. It would be just further downgrading of America..... BLAH

In order to end the off-topic and referring to Thom's question: I think, these days nobody can tell what the GOP will do in Congress. Of course they don't want President Obama to appear as successful President. On the other side they can't afford appearing as destructive party in this campaign season. So they will have to disguise their trials to trip the President up. Well, they always tried to do this as sneaky as possible, so it isn't really new.
Revolution Ron Paul ~ Freedom is a wonderful idea! Ron Paul the only one with a plan for peace. Paul will give us back our Constitution. Again the media keep saying the young are excited over Ron Paul, Its Not just the young, " Just in my area I know over 50 people at the age of 65 and over who are supporting Paul.. Perhaps this young business is a way of dumbing down Paul. "Wonder? We are in a Crisis right now have you notice, and this needs to stop. As of now, the only real change I see is Paul? Paul is the real deal! " Why not make things simple again .. Freedom is simple and Friendly. I see Medicare was made complicated! Why ? "So some people can have a hard time filing out forms and understanding them, get confused and end up lost in the shuffle. Whats up here?

If you are lucky you will see just one or 2 people smiling. Its amazing to watch and how people get pulled right in to Hollywood fashion elections, Money can buy ~ Its Holly~wood Its magic ! Again have you notice how Words always point away from themselves...

In case I should be wrong: How do you want to organize democracy without elections? Your horrible argumentation, HITLER after all was VOTED into office sounds like recommending suicide because you fear death. That's crazy! And by the way, referring to German history, did you really use correct terms? What're you talking about?
Are you speaking about GESTAPO (Geheime Staatspolizei/ secret government police) or/and SA and SS? It's all very weird. What're you talking there? I know quite a bit about European history, but your stuff sounds pretty messy. What "terrorists"?? Are you suddenly switching forward to RAF?Hitler: Now, you've got to consider the German's mood after WWI. They were forced into a democracy the majority of the Germans didn't want. They yearned back to their old Kaiser Wilhelm. They also were upset because they had lost WWI and the high prices they had to pay. Hitler was their hope to get out of all this. They weren't afraid to lose democracy, for they didn't want democracy at all.
Of course ANY democracy can end, if a majority votes for an anti-democratic party. As long as you are free, you are able to end your freedom. After that you're not free to get back to freedom anymore. It's that easy.

My political goals that seem most important to me are:
** education ** social justice ** care for American poor
Ron Paul is a threat to all these goals. I am afraid America falls back into a dark-dark age of poverty, misery and distress. I love America and don't want it to become part of the 3rd World.
What we see in Africa, is exactly poverty, misery and distress. The world has to overcome all that, but unfortunately it doesn't go right now. It takes generations to develop underdeveloped countries, but you can throw back a county pretty soon by a destructive regime. The violence we see in Africa and Asia is manly caused by lack of education. Education is very much the key to a better world. Abolition of our standing army and closing Department of Defense is not! You can have Africa's pirates at our national costs right tomorrow, like the Vikings came in middle-age where ever parts of Europe were defenseless for a King struggled with other threats. The world works still the same in this matter!
In my opinion Paul threatens national security, survival of our poor and generally the work of President Obama. I think Obama needs to work on for further four years: Improve health insurance, create jobs, educate America, and also make our army healthily slender -- smaller instead of abolish totally. Yes, we spend too much on defense, we got ourselves too much engaged globally and this fiscally kills us. But we can't go on zero military right tomorrow. [To all:] Discuss that in kindergarten or bars after a couple beers.
Cynthia McKinney talks, but it seems she doesn't listen much: "Don't even listen to your friends who think you've gone crazy, just vote for peace." This lady isn't totally wrong, but she's simplifying a lot. Focusing on points actually nobody sees through. I am very much convinced, even Obama can't. If he sent 12,000 soldiers, probably because it looks like Libya might get on fire. And I don't think we're alone in this, without Europe and NATO.
In the first place President Obama wished to, but he can't drop out of international 'chess'. You can discuss that dropout in a bar, but in reality it's not working. If America, Europe, the NATO dropped out, the world would get into the worst chaos ever.
Yes, we can go off-topic to global issues...... or somebody might come in here and protest nuclear power plants: "Switch 'em off! All of 'em! NOW!" (Well, it's impossible....)

Back to U.S. politics:
Even if Ron Paul was President right now, he couldn't drop out of international military engagements. The majority of Republican and Democratic Congresspeople wouldn't let him. It's that easy. They're simply not that crazy. Close Department of Defense: This is nuts! As we couldn't go out of Afghanistan at once -- although I'd love it.
A real threat, if Paul was President, is homicidal social cuts against American poor. That is a real threat, because you easily get a Republican majority for that! So this is the reason why I am advocating a Democratic majority. As I want Obama's education offensive come true. Republicans don't stand for that. I think on long terms: You can't cheat so easily on an educated people. A well educated America wouldn't have voted for a crazy guy like Bush, so we would never have gone to Iraq!

Berry: Yes, I have heard of all these things about Cynthia McKinney, except for the crayons, including the fact that Ron Paul backed her in 2008. If Cynthia McKinney were running again, I'd definitely vote for her. As far as I am concerned my vote for Obama was a total waste. I am now immune to the propaganda and lies that try to make it seem like "we have no other choice" or "Obama is the lessor of two evils". He is part of the problem...or rather, perhaps, it is the Democrat party itself that is part of the problem. There are some good Democrats but I think many others are owned by the people who have been waging an economic war against us for 30 some years. And they are playing this game of herding us all into the corner supporting the guy that is pretending to be on our side when he is actually one of them to begin with. It keeps people tamed down with a smidgen of hope..as false and fake and useless as it is...so they don't get more active in fighting the ruling elite with tactics that go beyond the corrupt voting booth. That's what they are scared of...that people will catch on to their deceptions and that they will rise up and rebel. But so far, they seem to be right about Americans being so dumbed down with campaign advertizing...which is largely why the politicians need to continually raise money and why those with the money can buy their politicians.

If they were economically smart and cared about the jobs for the citizens they would agree HOWEVER - if it would benefit the President and the peons they will stand their ground to destroy the whole idea. We all need to stand our ground and protest squashing this great opportunity of restoring America and jobs. I am all for inporting!!!

Someone needs to take control of the Military Complex and downsize heavily - we have spent a trillion dollars going after a bunch of ragheads, make believe WMD's, made up threats to keep us in war - if you haven't read '1984', a book I read in high school, you ought to read it.......our Military Complex is one big sucking machine that continues to need feeding - Harry Truman had it right - he thought the General's and others in the Military were full of crap, he fired MacArthur....yes, Romney, when talking about Security in this country is talking about leaving the decisions about our Security in the hands of the Military ----- HELP FOLKS - we are going backward and the average person in this country knows little about history so these Buffoons in government are able to continue to repeat the mistakes of the past.......I really thought that once Vietnam was over that was it - we had learned our mistakes - evidently not. Hey folks - the job creators are the Multi-Nationals who are creating jobs OVERSEAS - why are they still getting tax cuts...Globalization is a failure - the only country doing well and has the healthiest economy is Germany - there is no outsourcing of jobs - low unemployment - healthcare for all - looks like the USA before Republican Policies were implemented in the U.S. We had 80+ years of success in the U.S. Here are the facts about our country before globalization:
We were No.1 in EXPORTS. We were No. 1 in imports of Raw Materials. We were No.! in loaning money to OTHER countries.
Now, we import everything - we export raw materials - we borrow money to run this country.
Jobs and Republicans is an oxymoron - why would they create jobs when they are responsible for policies that have created the job loss in this country...I will never forgive Clinton for signing NAFTA - as Perot said (and he was a bit crazy but not so stupid), if NAFTA is passed you will here a big sucking sound coming out of this country - well DUH! In fact, their policies of Deregulation, Glass Steagall, tax cuts & 2 wars, we are still digging ourselves out of Bush's mess...the pipeline is a joke....the tar sands coming out of Canada will in effect be sold outside this country. Check out why Germany is in such good shape - they still have manufacturing in their country, their laws in effect probably don't allow companies to leave - most everyone is employed - people are doing well - they have a healthcare system for all...it is what we looked like before Reagan and his buddies like Phil Gramm came into office touting Trickle Down Economics which has been around since the Great Depression -
yes, the simple answer is yes..we have a greater disparity in this country than ever before between the "haves and have-nots", rivaling some 3rd world countries...and it is complicated by the politicial rhetoric, the misuse of religion for political purposes, the hijacking of our voting by corporations via Citizens United, the long,unnecessary wars ("beware the military industrial complex")...the system has been skewed...
