Speaking about evil law enforcement, has anyone read the blog post by growin the other day that mentioned "Operation Zeus" and Internment Camps in Greece. I found it interesting since we seem to be lagging behind Greece a bit in economic plights this may be a grizzly portal of the future here. Personally I'd rather lag behind the Greeks in any level rather than having the Greeks behind me. Just looking out for my a$$.

Privatization! What a disaster that idea is turning out to be. Privatized spying, privatized prisons, now we have a privatized Government. We the People are SOL. No wonder no one talks about the constitutionality of the law anymore, it has nothing to do with profits. We have had a long standing tradition of separation of church and state in this country. It is high time we start a dialogue about mandating separation of the private sector and state as well. As Communism and Fascism has historically shown us, business and Government thrive best separate. Combining them kills them both.

Thank You Chuck's Chuckle!! You are right indeed, I need a job! But if i had one writing i'd also need medical attention for all the self inflicted wounds I'd suffer from constantly pinching myself to see if I was dreaming! Seriously though, I really appreciate the compliment, I've just been drinking Thom's kool aid lately when it comes to 'Where Despair Is Not An Option". This one was a tough one today to try and lighten up, man, phew! I'm so glad someone digs it!

Quote Palindromedary:Now that would not have been a very intelligent thing to do..."stay and face the music"?...from the world's largest criminal terrorist organization that not only murders millions of innocent civilians but tortures people, frames them, constantly lies to them, spies on them, drives them into poverty while propping up (foreign aid) other ruling despots (US puppets) around the world?

Palindromedary ~ Excellent point, my friend! I might also add what about indefinite detention? Who in their right mind is going to "face the music" in a country where you no longer have the right to a speedy, fair trial by a jury of your peers? The right to be confronted with all evidence and witnesses against you? The right to be treated humanely and being legally represented? We're not still living in the early 1970's when it was possible for a Daniel Ellsberg to release something like the Pentagon Papers and still have a snowballs chance in hell of defending himself in court. Today, if the Government even suspects someone of pissing it off it can legally make them disappear. No justification, no charges, and no bail. Indefinitely is a long time. That's what they can do legally now. That's not even including what they can illegally do with their black ops! (ie. Michael Hastings) Of course, that is a relatively new reality in this country. They have been doing that in other places for some time. If anyone thinks for a second that staying and "facing the music" would have been a wise noble gesture on the part of Edward Snowden then they are either out of touch with reality, in serious denial of what is really going on, or seriously need to back off of on their meds.

Bottom line: No fair trial = No "music" to face. Given the current state of affairs Snowden acted wisely and appropriately!

Obama was naive. He should have accepted the resignation of every US Attorney (93?) like every president before him did.

  • What do the GOP hate most about Obama's plan?   11 years 44 weeks ago

Unbelievable double talk from Laska. Someone needs to whack some of these Republicans over the head with a rolled up newspaper and ask them what they are thinking! And they seem to couch everything as if it is just an election stunt (2014) to get votes. We need to throw out just about the whole bunch in congress and elect some learned individuals who will study and recommend the changes this country needs to go forward, because right now, we are going backward, quickly becoming a 2nd world to 3rd world nation governed by a few oligarch's.

Once again ole Uncle Sam gets caught with his hands on your trophy girlfriend. I hate it when that happens. I don't even think he cares anymore if I see it or not! Why should he? Who am I to try and 'keep it real' by stepping up to someone that intense with some choice words and a bad attitude only to get my teeth kicked in and laughed at? The poor chick dosen't even realize that he's just gonna use her and lose her like a pair of rented bowling shoes. Besides, how am I supposed to explain my new false teeth to my wife?

see eye to eye that Republicans cheated in 2010... When will democrats fight back..... President Obamas biggest mistake IMO once he won election was not investigation the Bush administration over Iraq and holding them responsible

on the economy, as with any related policy, The Jobs Mandate .org should be the only subject discussed with the goal of full empoyment PLUS reducing the Fed budget overall.

Can you create a million jobs without new stimulis money? It can.

If Bernanke directed 1 months worth of Wall Street money to The Jobs Mandate it would pay the salaries for 3, 400,000 people for 1 year. Republicans 'say' they are all about jobs so give them an ultimatum and shut them up. The President could do this and quite a lot more if he chooses to help us.

  • Mitch McConnell doesn't keep "gentleman's agreements."   11 years 44 weeks ago

Thom - off topic. I am reading about Greek internment camps, "Operation Zeus". It sounds like they are rounding up more and more groups of people. Can you address this?

  • Mitch McConnell doesn't keep "gentleman's agreements."   11 years 44 weeks ago

Palindromedary ~ You don't have to worry about me voting Democratic, or Republican in 2016. What we have to worry about is everyone else. Too many Democrats are--and have been--so screwed by the current Administration that I can't see them voting Democratic in the next election. Some will vote third party and some Republican. A vast majority will probably just stay home because they're too exhausted from working three jobs. That means a Republican victory--possibly a landslide.

I'm not trying to convince anyone to do anything. People have to decide on their own. The plain fact of the matter is most people don't have the cognitive ability to make decisions without peer support; and, will do what they conceive the rest of their peers are doing, rather than what is right and good for them. In short, most people don't like to think for themselves. They want someone else to do that for them.

By next year, major phases of Obamacare are going to kick in. Some people will benefit; but, the vast majority are going to feel like they are being screwed big time. They will hate Obamacare, the insurance industry, the medical industry, and most of all the Democratic Party. By 2016, the Republicans are going to rally most of the country around the single cause of abolishing Obamacare. They may even throw people the bone of demanding single-payer. It doesn't really matter, by then Obamacare will be biting people in the a$$ so hard they will swallow the platform hook line and sinker.

The only thing that can stop that freight train from chugging into the White House would be a super charismatic and gifted orator like JFK with the backing of huge financial capital. How an independent party could put something like that together in three short years I don't know. I doubt the Democrats could either. If someone like Chris Christie decided to jump ship and run as an independent an upset might happen. However, with the current candidates I doubt it. Besides, if the Democrats found someone like that, they would lose anyway. Obama, Reid, and Pelosi have driven in all the nails in that coffin lid. Dracula himself wouldn't be able to open it.

The good news I might foresee is an independent winning an election after the fiasco that will probably ensue with the next Republican election. Like it was said earlier, fool me once shame on you, fool me twice... I do believe that if the next Republican Administration is as wicked as the last two Administrations that will be enough for the general masses to get fed up. Sometime then is a good time for a third party to make a serious move. To ensure success I would recommend that all current popular third parties consider joining together. They will need their combined resources to make that bid work.

You and I are both right my friend! Unfortunately, we are both a little ahead of our time. If you're like me, you probably find that patients is something that is a constant effort and always in need of improvement. Certainly, it is with me. Nevertheless, we must continue the effort to rally as many as we can to the voice of reason and ignore any discouragement. Please don't let me discourage you. Also, please, don't hold your breath.

Palin -- I am certainly not a member your choir. I gave you a long list of all the wonderful things the dems did during the 11 week period they had power. This was even with blue dogs that weakened their efforts.

Our nation has an historical example of a third party vs. overloading with democrats. The Roosevelts both lived during dire economic times. Teddy tried to create a third party and failed. Franklin overloaded with democrats which led to the strongest economy our nation has ever had. FDR also did dumb things like try to balance the budget but with a congress overloaded with democrats he could reverse that approach.

DAnneMarc: Careful, you might scare people into voting for the Democrats again in 2016! ;-o

Yes, it would just be too horrible if a Republican got back in...but I think that we would just be fooling ourselves (yet again) that a Democrat would be any better.

What has the ruling elite been able to get away with since the Democrats "came to power" that they may not have been able to get without massive rioting in the streets had the Republicans won in 2008 and 2012? People were really ticked off at the dunce of a President that preceded Obama and the corrupt banking institutions were on the verge of being bailed out by the taxpayers. Could they have pulled that off with a McCain/Palin in office? They needed a radical illusion of change which is what Obama provided.

The Democrat Party is just another way that the ruling elite have of screwing us all. It's not really about whether a Republican or a Democrat is in office...they are both two sides of a single coin...Heads they win or tails we lose!

Yes, I know I am just preaching to the choir....but not everyone in the choir is singing the same tune....there are a few infiltrators (emphasis on "trators" (traitors).

  • Snowden finally leaves airport!   11 years 44 weeks ago

DAnneMarc's comments in #16 and #17 were right on!

Snowden is a HERO! And so is Manning and Assange and all the other whistleblowers that have been persecuted by this and the previous administrations. This country is being ruled by criminals who do not want their crimes exposed. Anyone who condemns those who try to expose those criminals are either aiding and abetting the criminals or are too stupid to know any better...perhaps...just uniformed..too propagandized....or too stubborn to accept anything but the entrenched status quo. Every citizen of every country goes through the process of suffering their government's propaganda.

To this day, there are those in Germany who will not admit that what Hitler did was wrong. To this day, many Japanese will not admit that they committed atrocities and war crimes in South East Asia. To this day, many USians will not admit that it's government has done anything wrong in South East Asia (Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia) or in the Middle East...or South and Central America.

It is really hard for many to actually see their government for what it is...sans the lifelong propaganda campaign against them. Psychologically, it is too much of a burden to have to accept something that is so radically different from what we have been made to believe all our lives. So many people refuse to see the truth. Their governments commit atrocities yet the citizens continue to believe their government's psychological warfare they have been waging against them and so the people continue to swallow the government lies and propaganda. And eventually, they will discover that they have fallen into the trap and it is too late to save themselves...to change things.

Quote kuriouskat:...if he really had the courage of his convictions, he should have stayed and faced the music.

Some people have just not yet realized just what kind of corrupt and ruthless country they are living in. Lots of Germans fell for Hitler too and believed in him and what the Nazis were doing. They were patriotic citizens too who would also have thought that anyone who showed the world just how criminal and evil Hitler and his Nazi regime was should have had to stay and "face the music" from the Nazis. Wake up, people! The United States of America has been hijacked by evil criminals that have no problem committing mass murders of innocent civilians and torturing others as well! No one can really expect or trust that they would be treated fairly under such a corrupt system.
