Just listened to Peter Ferrara ranting on Thom's show. He claimed that Thom makes things up and flat out lies, and even went so far as to imply that his listeners just want to hear just that. Now I don't know whether Peter or Thom has the facts and are representing them honestly... but Thom's calm manner and effort to get real questions answered, vs Peter who talks fast, angrily and evades or try's to reword the question to his advantage does tend to make me have more faith in Thom. Now I can either choose to research the facts of either side, or I can choose to have faith in the person who had convinced me through the strength and style of their argument.

I can see why Thom is constantly advising his listeners that his choice to have as many right wingers on his show is to model an appropriate way to have a discussion with a right winger. The discussion is in no way going to change either participants point-of-view, but it may just influence anyone who may be observing the discussion.

I wish I had Thom's patience, I avoid political debates just because I don't, and have no wish to end up screaming like a buffoon and making a spectacle of myself.... like Peter Ferrara so aptly and reliably does when he comes on to the show.

I have been talking about lifting the payroll tax, the FICA payroll deduction cap, since before the tea party was created by the Koch Bros.

The cap, $135,000 which was set in 1935, will not be felt by the vast majority of Americans. Those who will won't care. I know of no one whis waiting for the day when they pass the $135K threshhold so that they can have an extra $5 in their paycheck.

My Congressman Jo Bonner(R-AL1) thinks it is a tax increase and so his kneejerk reaction is to be against it. A couple of weeks ago a group of about 100 millionaires went to congress to ask to be taxed. They asked to pay their fair share. NOT ONE SINGLE REPUBLICAN CONGRESSMAN WOULD MEET WITH THEM. These people are not listening to their constituents. They are not listening to the economists. They are not listening to the 99%. They are not listening to our millionaires. To whom are they listening? How big a check do you need to bring with you to get a congressman to listen?

Of course, you may be right! I should have said Obama is merely the latest proof...as this proof has existed so many times in the past. We don't know if he was being insincere in his campaign demeanor and rhetoric or if he was blackmailed or threatened after he won. But Obama seemed to me to be the pinnacle of rebellion against corruption and power, the high hope, the new sheriff in town that would help to clean up the mess. But, whatever the reason, has not done so...and even acted like he was part of the ruse to begin with.

We don't know if he was a devious Trojan horse sneaked in by the ruling elite to feed people a lot of false hope in order to confuse the people long enough to get certain pro-ruling elite policies instituted...like the $700 billion (started by the Bush administration) bailout and no enforceable strings attached...and the slick job they did on creating a government enforceable payola program to the health insurance scamsters. But, Obama, right from the start, embraced the right-wing agenda...and didn't seem to be too distraught at having done so.

We may be giving Obama too much credit for the idea that he was strong-armed into doing a 180 degree on his campaign rhetoric. I am not willing to give him that benefit of the doubt. Because, no matter what the reason, he did fail us.

It is time for a real change! Time to wreck the entrenched corrupt two party system with someone else....super radically to the left. He/she may risk getting assassinated or blackmailed, which is what the ruling elite is good at, but the alternative is a massive boycott and/or revolution or a serfdom/fiefdom third-world America with 99% of the population living in squalor and/or dying off as emaciated and sickly peons bowing down kissing the jack boots of the gestapo pigs ruling the country.
