@Maxrot: The borders were laid down by gods of some sort. Probably based on astrological readings and tectonic plate positions. The Mastodons and Siberians weren't very good at record keeping. The Europeans didn't bother so much with record keeping, but they were excellent at genocide and plunder.
@Gene, well the biggest problem with the Mastodon constitution was it based its borders on the North American Ice Sheets and Glaciers. As those disappeared, it was hard to argue where the borders were. Stoopid Mastodons.
@Gene, hmmm perhaps I can sell rocks to the Government, proclaiming that they are classic and universal ammunition. But my rocks are of high quality and the cost reasonable, in fact for a special fee, I'll license the military to be able to use any rocks they deem suitable in whatever theatre of operation they may be in (wouldn't want them to pick up the stones and use them illegally).
Isn't is interesting that China is concerned about unfettered growth in population, but the "free market" advocates pay no attention to resources? Limits are for idiots.
I love Homer Simpson's answer(my favorite line of his) : the kids want to spend the night on the sidewalk downtown so they can get a good view of Crusty the Clown's parade the next morning. Marge sez "Oh, that's too dangerous! Homer, you go with 'em!" Homer sez: "Doh! Can't they just take the gun??"
@Jeanie, I applaud your restraint, with those protesters, in just using the thumbs down gesture... I woulda' messed up and used a different digit and pointed it up.
Perhaps I can just put a tattoo on my kids neck saying they're chipped, that way would be kidnappers wouldn't bother. Then I wouldn't really have to chip my kids and they can have an honest to goodness tattoo too. Win win.
Maxrot, if you can have a device placed in your car so the police can locate it lickety-split if it's stolen, shouldn't we be able to do that with kids? And 15 or 16 would be fine. Of course it's a slippery slope, but sometimes, technology can be our friend. At least, it should be.
I saw people demonstrating (here in Phoenix) right before health care "reform" was passed with signs that said "Stop Obamacare". I gave them a thumbs-down and yelled that they were idiots. I think I struck fear in their hearts.
@Jeanie, I don't know about chipping my sons. Its seems to be a good idea for its intentional purpose, but what type of abuse of the chip can be made while waiting for the child to grow up. Also why wait til their 18 to remove the chip, why not at a younger age say 15 or 16. I think there is a bit of an atmosphere of fear permeating this country brought to us by corporate interests. Ever watch bowling for Columbine, Michael Moore did some good compare/contrast investigations between Canada and America. Its amazing how well adjusted those crazy Canooks are.
#38: Maxrot, don't make me spell it out for you! Mostly because I can't. It made sense when I was typing it.
I would like to put an electronic chip in my son, but just for the purposes of tracking him in case someone steals him. As long as it would be removed when he's 18.
I don't know if I give a damn about survelliance video at stores and parking lots. Its private property that I'm entering, and at a certain level I'm entering into an implicit agreement to being watched to limit my ability to commit crime on or against the property. I'm don't like it, but in reality if every person is video taped going through a store, what store has enough time or personnel to watch each person. I doubt that unless there is a specific reason to find out if was at the store, anyone would watch the tape, and if they do, then for all I care, they can watch me scratch my ass or whatever.

A mammoth mistake....tusk, tusk!

The mastodons would argue that the Siberians who came to North America were illegal immigrants. Their problem was that they couldn't type.
@Maxrot: The best way to go on welfare is to become a corporation that deals with military weapons.
I should go on welfare, it must be paying a lot more than I thought it was, it sounds like the best deal around.

Earth First! We'll strip mine the others later!

Seems that Howard Zinn was a project of J. Edgar Hoover. No real threat besides teaching history, which is always in conflict with the ruling class.

so, Jeanie, the moral of this story, is get your kid a Canadian chip...

Guest is right health care should not be employee based.

"Achtung! Workers of the World Unite! Hold the MSG!"
Everything is "commerce." I'm sure that slave traders would object.
