Arkansas is a blue dog Democratic state and I understand my Senator is one of the blue "turn coat" dogs. Generally he acts pretty democratic so I don't understand this action. working from inside the Democratic committee here are some progressives trying to change things. AR is about the only southern state that's been held by Dems for quite some time, but not progressives. We are one of the 4 states who remains in the black though and we've cut taxes here, basically sales tax on food, which is a good thing. I definitely would not vote for a Dem who sided with Republicans right now on any issue and especially on a bal budget amendmend.

Right you are again, Cygnus1! I guess sometimes I falter with a tendency of giving Obama the benefit of the doubt...he seemed like such a good man. We sure all wanted to believe Obama but he kept letting us down. Maybe the kindest thing we can do is to make sure he finds a different profession after 2012. He will likely go to work for some Wall Street firm as a high-brow lawyer. Let the next President be some idiot Republican so the revolution will occur on his watch...as it probably would have if McCain and old what's her name were elected in 2000. Obama just fed us a bunch of false hope which let a whole bunch of the right wing agenda slide right by without much of a peep from anyone. The people who voted for Obama and the Democrat Congress didn't peep much in opposition to a Democrat President who was acting like a Republican. And that worked out for the ruling elite just dandy. But I suspect that the ruling elite does not seriously expect any of the dimwit Republican jokes to be President anyway, which is just fine with them because Obama is still "their man". Wall Street owns Obama and everyone knows it (well, not everyone...some people have not caught on yet...they will likely vote for Obama yet again..and that is really tragic.)

The military supports Ron Paul
Whilst Ron Paul is a good and courageous man, there is absolutely nothing at all which he can do for the military. It is the system which must go, and that is the only way all heartache and misery for the Peoples of these United States of America, and for all the Peoples around the world, to end. The Peoples themselves must topple it, but they cannot do that without, their own soldiers, because you, the soldiers have the training.
You are the war pilots of the Air Force, You fly both helicopters and warplanes. You are the Navy with the submarine training and warship training. You are the Navy Seals. You are the Ground Troops of the Army. You are the Marines, select groups trained in military precision. You are what your own People need BACK, to protect THEM from the terrorist forces within the country who have taken hostage the White House, the Pentagon, the CIA, militarized the police forces ...you get the picture.
If the good man, Ron Paul, were ever to become elected, he would get a phone call announcing that there will be a few men who will come to see him and they will read him the riot act. It happens to every leader in most countries. And that will be the end of the new President of the United States of America acting on behalf of the People. The only power a President has is to make war on other nations for the benefit of the military industrial complex, and the President is "told" which wars to fight and when to send over U.S. soldiers to fight in them.
If you want out of warfaring climates, soldiers, then you will have to get out yourselves and make a stand, and you will have ALL THE PEOPLES OF THE UNITED STATES AND AROUND THE GLOBE STANDING WITH YOU, helping to protect YOU.
TOPPLING THE CAPITALIST SYSTEM WHICH KEEPS THE WORLD IN ECONOMIC BONDAGE IS WHAT EVERY MILITARY MAN AND WOMEN SHOULD BE GAITING THEMSELVES TOWARD, AND NOTHING ELSE.
Putting yourselves at the forefront will perhaps be one of the most dangerous and difficult acts of conscience you will have ever attempted, but consider what you will, in the long run, gain.
You receive what you put into the effort. If you put nothing into the effort, yourselves, and think you must rely on this or that politician who can do nothing for you, to change anything for as long as the 1% and their worker eyes run the nation and the world into destruction, then you will not only not rebuild Paradise for yourselves, your neighbours, or your families, but you will continue in living alongside the Peoples of your diverse nations, in poverty, hardship, heartache, and desperation.
The American dream is not just about having a job through working for the 1%, no matter how high the wage. The American dream is not just about buying a house and living on a nice street lined with trees, or having two cars which you really do not own because just like your homes and furniture, the banks own it all.
You are, in fact, only renting those items, and when you finish paying for your home, you must ensure you have a job to continue in paying land taxes or you could lose it all. This is not the American Dream at all.
The American Dream is the dream of rebuilding Paradise for yourselves, your familes and your neighbours. A Dream where you will all be satisfied and happy and not be in jeopardy of losing it all.
You once thought President Obama could do something for you, the soldiers of the Military, such as bringing you home, so you voted for him. But he could do nothing for you any more than any other man or woman sitting in the White House can do under this present people destroying system. Ron Paul is no threat to the 1%, as he supposes, because he does not have the solution in taking down the 1% and their system and replacing it with a Paradise for the Peoples. - Cygnus1
It would be nice if the Blue Dogs were kicked out of Congress--but not by uber-corporate Repubs or Tea Partiers, but by progressive Dems (if there are any). The big tent theory is great for cultural and ethnic diversity but it doesn't work in a political party.
Michael Hudson, economist, has some really good ideas. The interviewer posed the question that if Bernie Sanders were the President and Michael Hudson were the Chief Economist..what would he do to turn things around....one amusing thing he said was that the President should ask the SCOTUS into the White House and tell them, "with all due respect...since the supreme court appointments are for life...you'll either change your hard right-wing tunes or we will have to replace you....we'll take you into a back room and shoot those of you who continue to give us trouble."...or something similar to that effect....
The OWS movement rejects any attempt by either the Republicans or the Democrats to hijack their movement. Many realize that the problem is a problem with both parties. He said that the Democrat party has already tried to hijack the OWS movement but it didn't work because people realize that the Democrat Party is just as crooked as the Republican party.
Michael Hudson believes that there will be a revolution but not a violent one because the police are too strong. He believes it will be a political revolution...probably starting next spring...and will happen at least within 4 years.

I suspect that this is very true....in which case one could not very well blame Obama for much. Obama had initially said something to the effect that "We, the people, had to FORCE him do act in their interests". I suppose that is what the OWS movement is trying to do. All we can do is speculate about why Obama has done a 180 degree turn from his pre-election convictions. Was he bought out...threatened...or was he just fooling us all along. And anyone else that wins the office of the POTUS...Green, Peace and Freedom, ...whatever may get threatened to do things a certain way that benefits the ruling elite criminals. No one would want to end up like JFK.

Yes, JessieV, we know, and also agree with you that 1/2 of the Congress belong to the 1% class of super rich people. That is why their legislation favours so often their own elite class at the expense of the people. Their motto is: "Tax the people, but not us!" And so the people go for broke while they take to their private jets for sun-bathing at the Bahamas. However, keep in mind that there is a difference between being the 1% and belonging to the 1% as worker eyes.

Paradocs: lol...whatever! Have you ever read An Eye for an Eye by John Sack. It's a story of how the Jews took out their revenge on the Nazis in 1945 when they set up their own "concentration" and "torture" and "death" camps in Poland. Yes, the Nazis probably deserved every bit of what the Jews did to them...but they also punished Nazi sympathizers...even children who they believed were part of HItler's Youth Movement. Beaten, tortured, starved, made to live in filthy and infested conditions, raped and murdered. This is what the Jews did to the Germans and Poles. And many people would rather not hear the truth about this because it tends to take away from the totally innocent victim status. Yes, the Jews and others...like Gypsies...and others were victims and then so were the Germans and Poles....and now the Jews treat the Palestinians like the Nazis treated them. It took violence and force from the Allied forces to change the horrible situation in Nazi Germany and in Japan. Most people think this violence was good...as I agree it was. But when one weighs the extent of the violence..."total warfare" including purposefully fire bombing civilian targets...and then the A-bombs...one has to wonder why if they thought THAT application of violence was good..then why would they balk at similar acts of violence (none of which would even come close to the violence we used against the Nazis and Japan) for the purpose of effecting change in favor of the majority of Americans who have suffered, and will suffer a great deal more to come, by the fascist criminal elites who started the war against us to begin with? I am against violence, but history has shown that it was always violence (by varying degrees...or the threat of violence) that effects change. Governments praise violence and pat themselves on the backs for having committed violence calling those who committed violence....heroes. These trained killers are celebrated as heroes.
